This router has accomplished every little thing I wanted with no problems what so ever. The wireless was very easy to set up and it was a excellent replacement for an old D-link router I had ahead of. Anything about this router is great. ASUS is nevertheless freakin' great! They have still to let me down with any of their merchandise. I would absolutely suggest this router to everyone seeking for uncomplicated wireless set up and overall good good quality. Good value also! None at this time. I have no knowledge with routers and networks, but this was a extremely straightforward set up. I am quite impressed and will continue to go to ASUS for all of my laptop or computer-associated wants. |

Wonderful worth for cash. Got this router on sale for a song. Supports DD-WRT (though we ALL need to know that you have to load it oneself). Rapid and stable. Could be slightly better searching, but hey, I'll take functionally stable more than flash and disappointment: I'm looking at you Linsys! It seems that some people bought this router expecting it to come preloaded with DD-WRT due to the label "DD-WRT Open Supply support". This just indicates that the router has the capability to be flashed to the DD-WRT firmware due to the hardware utilized on the router. Nonetheless it is important to note that this router only has 2mb of flash memory, for that reason you ought to use DD-WRT Micro. There are threads and guides that go more than specifically what is necessary to flash this router to awesometown. |

Very compact with quite straight-forward style. Initial hookup was a breeze. Loading DD-WRT was easy and quick. Like all the posters prior to have noted, make certain to get the directions from the DD-WRT wiki before loading it. Price tag could have been less expensive, but a solid option so far for the value compared to offerings at retail retailers. Nonetheless haven't owned it for incredibly lengthy, but absolutely operating fantastic with 90-100% signal in my two bedroom apartment. |

Not too long ago purchased a netbook and wanted an straightforward to set up, excellent excellent router for use at property. This 1, so far, meets the criteria. Setup took about five minutes and was super effortless. The only "glitch" was the need to have to reset my Comcast modem. Immediately after that it functions perfectly. None, so far. Thanks, as often, to Newegg for their quick shipping and reasonable costs. |

Flashed this with DD-WRT right after down grading the firm ware to use as bridge. Operates flawlessly. With DD-WRT this router becomes incredibly versatile versus what you could obtain from the competitors for twice the value. None. |

Supports dd-wrt and is advertised as such. Runs the dd-wrt micro edition quite well, and if you happen to brick it, I discovered recovery to be simple and straightforward. Coverage seems very good in a fairly tiny townhouse. You can not run full scale dd-wrt distributions on it. Routers with this little ram are rather evil. Girlfriend's apartment did not have wireless (or a router at all). Now everyone is happily working with networked wii, nook, and notebooks in addition to the desktop. |

Low PriceDD-WRT compatible Have to use micro version of DD-WRT due to lower memory capacity. Had to get a new router trigger my old Netgear WPN824 was beginning to flake on me, dropped connections, lag, etc. This new asus router seemed to function just fine with the stock firmware but given that dd-wrt functions on it, why not put it on. So far its been perfectly stable and doesn't seem to run terribly hot under a complete load. Cant genuinely go wrong here with the price tag and functionality. As usual props to newegg and asus, 2 corporations ive carried out organization with plently of occasions more than the years. |

Compact, very good WiFi signal, 4 port router built-in I can not get DD-WRT installed on this. I specifically purchased it for that purpose. I'm not new to technology, I function in the field and have ten years encounter. Each and every time I try set up DD-WRT, it says "Firmware Update Failed". I have read each resource on-line that pertains to this, including the DD-WRT wiki and forum. It seems uncomplicated and there isn't a lot to it, but it just doesn't operate. Very disappointing simply because the stock firmware is garbage, despite the fact that beneficial for the basics. It was still worth the 30 bucks to have a basic wifi router with 4 port switch, but if you're particularly shopping for it for DD-WRT assistance, look elsewhere. |

The Transformer that plugs into the wall is really high good quality. It does not do what DD-WRT does. DD-WRT found at www.dd-wrt.com does what it says it will do. I've applied it ahead of. Whatever is on this router does not do what dd-wrt is capable of performing and does not have the very same interface. ASUS please just upload dd-wrt. That's what I paid for. Also any attempt to put DD-WRT on your router will brick it. DO NOT Purchase THIS ROUTER! |

Cost. Pretty sleek appear. Somewhat compact. For whatever reason, this factor took me over 25 mins to get it set up and working. Had some problems receiving by means of the local network to the net. The ez setup function is remarkably simple and would have had me up and running in no time, but I had to run it several times just before I could get via to the web. The speeds this thing puts out is pretty impressive for what it is. I'd suggest updating the firmware, but out of the box really should be fine for most folks. Haven't observed any dropped signal or downtime but in the connection. The documentation could be far better with instructions and whatnot. I could see this thing giving non techy individuals troubles with setup even although ez setup is quite simple...I just had to run it about 5 times. Minus one particular star for difficulty with the setup, but overall I'm fairly please with this. |

Don't even read the reviews. Just get 1 of these. I bought this router to replace an 1 wireless B that was giving me trouble. Runs my iPhone, wii, two laptops, and backup pc with no complications at all. Often on, always functions, never requirements reset like my other G router. I transfer alot of data with this router and it in no way has a challenge. I ought to mention, I didn't even try the stock firmware. Flashed it immediatly with dd-wrt lite as every person here recommended. Stop reading, add to cart. I delt with my old unreliable router for months though this fantastic affordable 1 existed without me knowing. Must just come stock with dd-wrt to save everyone the trouble of flashing. |

This router is low cost and runs DD-WRT. Got it for like ฟ after rebate on a Black Friday deal. The default firmware sucked, but DD-WRT was a lot far better. It connects a lot faster than any of the routers I had prior to, and DD-WRT delivers a lot of great characteristics. However, the hardware is fairly buggy. Each and every couple of months, the router crashes, and when I power cycle, my settings are all gone. Not sure if this is my unit, or if all units do it.Plus, I've had this issue recently exactly where downloads larger than 50MB or so just don't function. The connection occasions out after a while. Doesn't affect most of my activities, but it's a difficulty since I can't download system updates and the like. |

Finally contacted consumer service and got case quantity and warranty return info. Router was returned repaired in much less than 10 days. Still working fine. Router quit immediately after four months, on-line customer service difficult at finest. Too negative I had to pay to ship an affordable router back for repairs right after a just few months, but it's nonetheless working. No complaints about repair approach, but it shouldn't quit operating immediately after such a short time. |

Low cost, Wonderful signal and distance, dependable, removable antenna, 9v, supports wpa2 aes, Flash's to DD-WRT in below five min employing asus recovery tool. none, I guess only makes use of dd-wrt micro but for the price that is expected. I flashed these to DD-Wrt then set them up so that they were applied as WAP's(wireless acess points). For the price these are considerably less expensive than most other WAPs, and they have a built in switch. Did not use DHCP, NAT, or routing cabablities of these boxes. I utilised 10 of these to cover more than 150,000 square feet of warehouse space with wifi. Purchased ฮ 9v POE (Power Over Ethernet) adapters (from an on-line auction internet site) for these so I did not have to run energy to the ceiling of the warehouse. At ์ for the unit and power adapters these were still about ุ cheaper than acquiring a WAP with POE built in, and DD-WRT provides a lot more capabilities, and has a built in switch. Most people today say you have to downgrade the firmware, but if you put he box in recovery mode and use the asus recovery tool you can flash this factor in minutes, which is good mainly because I had to do it to 10 of these. |

Works well sufficient. Haven't had to touch it since it was set up. Still running stock firmware. Haven't had to load DDWRT on it, but it's good having that selection if the original firmware provides any trouble. |

Works excellent as an access point, pretty significantly pnp. Got two and use them as a bridge to cover a massive residence, suffice to say they function terrific. Set up left some thing to be desired, there is no assist from the manual or from the router's IP page. But following a little trail and error got them working flawlessly. Overall a very superior/versatile product, at an unbelievable cost. Wifi range is barely above average, and their is usually going to be some work when setting them in up in DD-WRT, but hands down the ideal value for your cash. |

The cost is correct. This fundamental wireless router very easily flashes to DD-WRT via following the directions on the DD-WRT web page. Its appealing without having being distracting. The LEDs are at just the right brightness to let them be effortlessly viewed in full natural and artificial light without becoming so bright as to irritate in a dim or entirely dark room. Really rarely calls for a reboot or any other intervention as soon as up and running. Your experience may really if making use of different firmware.Handles five devices connected simultaneously with small complaint. Only one antenna. I have difficulty obtaining it to maintain a connection at 54mb/s. It generally fluctuates between the 24mb/s and 36mb/s settings. Setting it from auto to a manual 54mb/s makes it so that no device can connect wirelessly, so a wired connection is then necessary to change it back. The router this replaced (WRT54GL) didn't have this concern.Note that I have a suspicion that this might just be an error in the reporting and that every little thing is in fact connected at 54mb/s. I've not been able to verify this so in order to make an accurate evaluation, I'm assuming it isn't but creating this notation. The 24mb/s and 36mb/s speeds are perfectly sufficient for an web connection. You will not saturate it with a download on typical cable or dsl connections. I've not done the math on very high speed connections (fiber to the premises) vs these speed, but I suspect it wouldn't be any diverse. |

It's low cost. It almost certainly works just fine if you're satisfied with the original firmware, or DD-WRT micro. I wanted to use this with OpenWRT. I was lured by the advertisement that it was "Open-source compatible". But apparently, they only meant DD-WRT. It only has 2MB of flash memory. I could not construct an OpenWRT image little enough to fit there, even immediately after removing the web interface and a bunch of other nonessential stuff. |
this is the finest router i've ever owned. installation of DD-WRT was uncomplicated and straightforward. things like upnp, firewall rules, qos, etc. truly perform on this router in contrast to linksys or dlink where the settings dont generally really appear to do significantly of anything. I've owned this for six months now and its performed amazingly and there have been no problems at all. not adequate memory to set up the full version of dd-wrt, so you have to use dd-wrt micro, which is still seriously good, but i'd rather have the complete version. this is the ideal router you're going to get for this price tag. If you're confident with upgrading to the dd-wrt, then you'll enjoy this router
