ASUS Xonar U3 External USB 7.1 Channel Sound Card
Cons:Could have a better amp but that is a limitation of USB
Pros:Small size, great sound, decent price Comment:
Bought this for a SFF LAN machine that needed something better than onboard. I use Sennheiser 350s and I was happy with the sound of this card. The USB extension is nice. On Win 8 you have to download beta drivers for this to work. |

ASUS Xonar U3 External USB 7.1 Channel Sound Card
Cons:Although small, it is still bulky enough to be a nuisance(if you use it as amp for portable players).
Pros:This is far more powerful then i thought. I am constantly finding new uses for it. well worth the premium. Comment:
So far i have plugged it in to a computer, a keyboard, a cell phone, a laptop with linux, and a tablet. the increase in quality and volume increased by a huge margin over the respective audio systems. i understand now why there is a key ring, but i would have made easier to take off of key ring when needed. |

ASUS Xonar U3 External USB 7.1 Channel Sound Card
Cons:It might break if I smash it with a hammer.
Pros:pretty much plug and play, dont need the cd; maybe unless u are using the 3d and surround stuff... Comment:
I compared my new laptop with my old laptop and desktop with onboard sound...I could confirm it was my new laptop which was not being able to play my speakers out like they should with the headphone out jack..like it was half as quiet with the same volume level...I bought this and it's fixed, and if not even just a little better. |

ASUS Xonar U3 External USB 7.1 Channel Sound Card
Cons:The paint kind of smudges really easy.
Pros:- Cheap - Portable- Sounds flippin' AMAZING! Comment:
I read a few reviews before price matching this off another site for a nice 35$ or so. The quality that it puts out is simply amazing. I am an audiophile and i tend to be very picky about my soundcards and headsets. But codecs and technology have moved so fast in the last few years that my 200$ sound card in my desktop gets blown STRAIGHT OUT of the case by this little stick.I don't know what else to say , just that i am very impressed with the sound quality it pushes out for such a small device. The only drawback is that it only puts out 48Khz.Although the optical pro logic and provided drivers are simple and lightweight which makes up for the above. It is a really great experience to listen to Lossless audio files with this usb soundcard.I will be purchasing Asus Xonar stuff again for sure!Did i mention i paid 35$ ?! *Gasp* Buy this now! |
If you search a bit online, you will know why external sound cards can beat internal ones(even the high-end ones) so easily. But hearing the difference by my own ears still make me shocked. I am happy that I picked this.
