ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:none.
Pros:Slick bios, great software, looks and performs great. Comment:
An overall great motherboard. The software to automatically regulate fans is neat and convenient, I dont need my fans to be running at 100% if the system is producing much heat. This makes browsing and simple tasks much nicer as I dont have my fans blaring. The UEFI bios is awesome, and one of the best looking that I've seen.Recommended buy. |

Cons:None.
Pros:- Wide variety of ports: HDMI, DP, DVI, SPDIF, etc.- Sata Express and M.2 for being future proof with SSDs.- Well designed BIOS. Comment:
This board is very aggressively priced by ASUS compared to other Z97 boards. It comes with all the features you'd want without a big price premium; probably the best quality-price ratio for a Z97 board. |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:Little finicky with default boot drives for what ever reason, not worth taking a star just bit of extra work.
Pros:Good Build QualityEasy to maneuver Lots of expansion portsIntuitive Bios Good valueFuture compatibility with next gen CPU's Comment:
Purchased this motherboard in combination with the I5 4690k and 8GB of Corsair DDR3 1600 ram. Upgraded from previous Asus P5Q LGA 775 socket with an overclocked Q6600 3.6GHZ. The board seemed to be built well, It is an entry level board in comparison to some higher end boards. No flimsy plastic cheap feeling areas.Mother board was much more user friendly in Bios, and also comes with some useful desktop utilities for overclocking, fan monitoring and temperature monitoring if interested.Recognized Ram at rated 1600 MHZ speed and once LAN/Ethernet driver installed for internet connection it worked flawlessly with windows 8.1.I haven't overclocked the system yet, played around with some settings and it would be very easy also based off some reviews online it overclocks very well.Would definitely recommend this board to any one looking for and entry level motherboard but still great quality that Asus offers. All basic features and lots additional perks |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:could have used a few more sata ports...the accessories were a little lacking. also the thru plate was for the output ports seemed flimsy. drivers seem hard to install.
Pros:Quality board throughout...nice clean layout...well packaged from the factory...typical asus manual...easy to install the cpu...overall a good product...price was reasonable for me. Comment:
All in all I would recommend this board to anyone. I was very pleasantly surprised when it powered up right away the first time. The bios was flashed right after to the newest version using the program in the bios. As a plus my the SSD from my previous machine was used and it booted right into windows!! |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:Cost more then other similar motherboards of different brands.
Pros:Has everything I need, user friendly and great Asus software. Comment:
Had everything that I need or use and even some extras, is really user friendly with the ez xmp and the like available as physical button on the board for people who don't like messing around in the BIOS event thought the BIOS is user friendly as well, has a physical power button on it and AI suite 3 makes thing really easy. although like most Asus hardware you always pay an extra then if it were an other brand but for me the extra dollars were worth it. |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:io shield cheaply made, sli bridge is not black, Manual writing is very small and hard to read plus it could of been more indepth
Pros:lots of the same features on the higher end boards. Comment:
All in all the board is ok being a midrange board. Liked the one click overclocking, but also had the functions to overclock manually. Using a G3258 dual core with this board and have it running at 4.3Ghz from 3.2Ghz. UEFI Bios looks really good and is easy to use. Able to load windows in 9 seconds with fast boot using a old HHD according to windows. |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:None. Some say the realtec 892 audio chip is a turnoff but I find no issues with the sound hooked up to my Z5500's.
Pros:8 phase vrm. Good bang for buck imo. Solid state Japanese capacitors meaning this is durable. Comment:
I wanted Asus due to durability (was sing 2 Asus mobo's that ran 24/7 for almost 360 days a year for 6 years.) Main reason I went with this board is the 8-phase vrm over the 4 and 6 phase on the -k and -c versions. Didn't feel the need to go any higher models. Everything worked as expected when I assembled the build. Upgraded bios and went to OC, nice snazzy UI for easy OC plus a windows utility for OC if you want to keep your system up 24/7 like I do while changing settings on the fly. No issues at all with this board. |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:-price (even in a bundle)-a little lean on things included in the case-ports flat-driver madness
Pros:-sufficient board quality for what you pay for-clean layout (mostly)-q connector for the front panel Comment:
You know (mostly) that an Asus board is going to do what it says. In this case however there was some grief with the usb 3 drivers, and after about 45 minutes of searching out why my usb devices were not connecting I wound up discovering that there was an "unknown device" issue, in device manager. I wound up searching out then down loading downloading some drivers from an AMD related site. For an Intel board this isn't good. In fact it is UNFORGIVABLE. The file you may need is: "AMDA00_XPVistaWIN7_8.zip" (google search it)The bundle deal was ok all things considered but when I opened the box the whole thing screamed "no frills". If you want neat extras don't buy this. # sata cables, a SLI connector and the Q connector for the front panel is all that is in the box with the MB. This with the drivers issue for a +$150 board is, not really living up to my ideas of what you could expect from Asus. The Q connector is a great idea, that I wish more boards would incorporate. Being able to load up the connector with all the fiddly little front panel connectors mad that portion of the build VERY easy.As for the sata ports I find that ports facing up from the board are easier for not only the initial build but also for the eventual tweaking. Granted they take more space, but this board isn't that busy in layout. Attaching new drives is going to be a PITA.This is a satisfactory board, but I might not have bought it (bundle or not) had I known that the kit was so skimpy (even for a budget mid level board), and the drivers issue is unacceptable. I had to put in what I thought was an unnecessary effort to find these in the support forums, when they should have been right up there on the page related to the MB. Not too cool Asus. |

ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 HDMI Motherboard
Cons:the price is jacked up
Pros:-solid build quality-heatsinks dont get hot-supports SLI Comment:
Good motherboard for you money. great for those who want a no frills board that does what its supposed to do |
Get the bad out of the way: my first board arrived with a broken retention clip for one of the heatsinks. NCIX eventually straightened this out with a new board. Now, the good.Lots of IO on this board. No need to worry about connectivity issues. The board boots up incredibly fast. I've never seen bootup so fast, even on a fresh install. It boots so quickly that the Windows logo doesn't even finish coming together (Windows 7) before entering Windows. Every time it happens I think the computer locked up or rebooted! The BIOS is great and easy to navigate, even if I haven't used it that much. I haven't overclocked my 4690K because I just haven't seen a need to do so yet.Overall, this is the best bang for your buck (when on sale of course) and delivers where it's needed.
