ASUS Z97-C ATX LGA1150 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
Cons:- Poorly priced when the more feature-packed Z97-A can be had for nearly the same price when on sale
Pros:- Z97 chipset with overclock support for K processors- Large MOSFET cooler- 4 rear USB 3.0 headers- Feature pakced- ASUS AI Suite 3 makes configuring the board in Windows 8.1 a breeze, from overclocking to fan profiles- Good layout |
Exceptional motherboard by ASUS. Slightly more expensive compared to other Z97 motherboards offered by ASUS' competitors, but the beautiful UEFI bios, intuitive ASUS AI Suite 3 and excellent board layout makes up for it. Paired it with a Core i5 4590, Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR3-1866 and SanDisk Ultra II 240GB. No issues so far. Setup was a breeze. Ram set to 1866 automatically. Bios update through the UEFI interface was easy. Installation of Windows 8.1 along with drivers and software from the ASUS website was quick and painless. My favorite software is the ASUS Fan Xpert 2. It makes creating fan profiles so easy and it makes building a near-silent system that much more fun. If you can afford a few more dollars, though, consider the ASUS Z97-A which is a larger board with more features and better cooling.
