ASUS Zenbook UX51VZ-DH71 Intel i7 3612QM 15.6in 8GB 128GB SSD 1080p GT650M Windows 8 Ultrabook
Cons:None yet.
Pros:Light, Fast, Powerful and actually has 256GB (2x 128GB) Hard Drive Comment:
This laptop is great (so far).I thought I would clear up something I was concerned about when I bought this laptop:It actually has two 128GB SSD's in raid0 configuration. If you search reviews for this laptop you will see that this is the only website that reports it as 128GB.Something else that some people may want is the Windows Experience Index:Processor: 7.7RAM: 7.7Desktop Graphics: 5.8Gaming Graphics 6.8Primary Hard Disk: 8.4Hope this helps! |
This is a great laptop, definitely the best laptop I have ever owned. I believe it is the best for the money PC laptop available right now. If you take the price disparity into account I think it is also comparable to the 15" Macbook Pro Retina. The screen is bright and looks great. It is sometimes difficult to read text from far away since the screen is fairly high resolution, but maybe I'm just getting old.I'm able to play Borderlands 2, Skyrim and Civilization 5 on this laptop no problem at medium-ish settings at native resolution. The trackpad isn't very good. This isn't a big deal for me as usually use a mouse, but I find it's hit or miss on multi-touch gestures such as two finger tapping for a right click or three finger swipes for back/forward.The battery life is also a weak point. I get about 3.5 hours of general internet browsing before I need to plug in. Other laptops do a lot better, but it was likely a trade off to get the laptop so light, which I'm willing to accept, since the laptop weighs barely anything. The sound is ok, but tinny as is typical of all laptop speakers. I was surprised that in games I can actually perceive the stereo effect with this laptop, which is cool. It comes with a subwoofer which improves the bass, but it's still not as good as proper desktop speakers would be.Overall I'm extremely happy with it, and the trade offs match what i was looking for. I would've liked a better battery, but I like how easy it is to cart this laptop around, so I'm willing to deal with having to plug it in more frequently.
