Don't try to use with a Mac
Comment:
This KVM switch (CS1734a) offers only USB 1.0 support and therefore is unlikely to be of any use with modern computer systems. It was somewhat disappointing to have to purchase a power supply (for the switch) and an extra option. Despite claimes, there are many issues when attempting to use the switch with a Macintosh Pro. For the most part, the new aluminum Mac keyboards are not supported and the mechanism is definitely not a plug and play. ATEN tech support is very good and very helpful in trying to reach a resolution to problems. However, the more expensive ATEN-CS1734b is a somewhat better choice in that atleast USB 2 is supported and it includes a power supply. Otherwise, it's still not ready to be used with the Mac, especially if you are using an aluminum keyboard.

Excellent KVM
Comment:
This is a solid, quality product and I highly recommend it. I like the fact that it switches manually as well as through keyboard hotkeys. Video quality is good and the wireless logitech keyboard and mouse combo that I have works flawlessly with it. This is the second ATEN product I have bought and I have been impressed by both; a monitor switch and now a KVM.

Good KVM Switch!
Comment:
This is the third KVM switch I have owned over the years. It has the most features by far of any of the previous ones I have owned. I like that I can keep the sound focused on one PC and viewing another PC at the same time. I did not like that the numeric keypad on my keyboard is not recognized when switching between PCs. You also have to remember some of the codes to switch features such as Scroll-Sroll-2-K-S-Enter to move the sound, keyboard and monitor to PC2 while keeping the USB ports on the KVM switch focused on a different PC. I had one USB mouse that would not work with the switch, it was very erractic and could not be slowed down enough to make it work. It may have been just a fluke, not sure, another USB Mouse fixed the issue. Overall a good product and I highly recommend it.

Works great
Comment:
I had another brand KVM and it would randomly switch dekstops. This unit seats on my desk and works great!

Works as advertised
Comment:
Solid switch, works well, all cables included, in addition has one PS2 mouse and keyboard to USB cable. Also a USBa to USBb cable, Does not work with my Microsoft wireless keyboard mouse that uses only one USB port for the wireless receiver. Thus I did not give 5 stars for features. Does work with a Logitech wireless mouse only. At first I could not get the audio and USB to switch to a different port along with the KVM, but then read the manual (duh!) and found I had to hold the port switching button in more than 2 seconds. Works fine now. Using the hotkeys allows you to have the audio, USB and KVM on any port you choose.

ATEN 4 port USB KVM switch with USB HUB/SUN MAC
Comment:
This is an outstanding product. Very well made, very well thought out, and works right out of the box. Not as cheap as those clunky cheaper versions, but not nearly as expensive as the $400 models.
