Picked up this card the other day, and I just have to say WOW! It fit perfectly in my Intel Mobo PCI slot 1.0 X.... it makes my PII - 333 with HT fly! Diablo never looked sooooo good. And Quake (the orginal) forget it, this card plays that game no problem. Can't wait to see how Civ 3 looks. Get this card, it's the best! |

Now I'm not the person that would go out and buy an ATI product, especially at this price, but I gave ATI FireGL a chance, since it's the newest graphics out other than the GeForce 9600GT's. Speed is crucial, and tons came with it. Would like it more if ran on CrossfireX, but this can run FSX on super high at about 20-30 fps, depending where you are. Better than two GTX's SLI's, which costs less, but tri-SLI would match it or more. This has no HDMI capability, so 4 for features, but there is component adapters that work, too. 4 for quality cuz' I still don't trust ATI that much, their tech support didn't help when I asked in the beginning if it would run with HDMI, had to find out myself, but overall, great for the steep price, but less than a Quadro!!! |
I'm into some pretty high end gaming, and was looking for a card to compliment my powerful system. ATI FireGL v8600 did fit the bill. Graphics are crisp clear, no more lag even playing Empire Total War which it truely a system hog. The only flaw I can see is that now my system seem a little less stable. Ocasionaly, I will be a blue screen, or just have to hit the reset button. Before many of my games just weren't enjoyable because of all the stutter, but now I can see detail I never knew existed. Just make sure your autosave is on.
