AZiO E377-U31 Black External Enclosure
Comment:
Sleek all metal enclosures that are excellent seeking and have a fan "off" button on the front which tends to make them successfully silent. Easy tool-less installation of drives - requires much less than a minute. USB three. is quick. Hot swappable. None I have 4 of these enclosures. A single had a DOA AC adapter. I went to the Azio web web page, got in an on-line chat with "ryanr" in consumer support, and he sent me 2 replacement AC adapters and a link to new firmware for the drives. Good consumer suppoert and incredibly friendly staff. |

Comment:
Extremely solid construct with a clean appear. This enclosure is absolutely tool-less - effortless to open, install drive and re-assemble, with a very sturdy really feel. The wider base on this unit is good as the drive sits incredibly stable on a flat surface - not prone to tipping over like other units if accidentally bumped.Separate switches to control power and enclosure fan independently, however the 3" fan is whisper-quiet, so it may be unnecessary to energy off the fan.As usual, excellent practical experience dealing with Newegg. Blue activity LED is a bit on the bright side.Integrated USB three. cable could be bit short for some installs. I paired this enclosure with a WD 2TB Green drive and it operates like a champ. The drive snapped into the enclosure with ease and I was formatting the drive within 5 minutes of unboxing the enclosure. I'm currently working with this unit as a USB two. external backup drive with Win2k3 - so far it has be functioning flawlessly. |

I like the screwless design. The USB 3. connection operating with no issues. The fan is not noticeably noisy. None at this time. I'm not running this 24ǝ - just turning it on 1 day a week to do a scheduled backup of my home Computer. I swap a pair of 1TB drives among this enclosure and my other workplace for offsite peace of thoughts. |

AZiO E377-U31 Black External Enclosure
Cons:none
Pros:- the hard drive runs at a very low temperature (with fan on)- unit is very stable unlike many others that are easy to tip over- very easy to replace hard drive (no tools required) Comment:
With the fan on, the hard drive runs at a very low temperature (my Seagate 2 TB runs at around 26 deg C as checked by SeaTools). This ensures that the hard drive will last a long time. This unit is very stable unlike many others (including many name brands) that are easy to tip over. The tool-less design is great. I can swap in a hard drive in about 15 seconds.I do not have any issue with the bright light. I prefer it this way as the blinking tells me that it is working.I like it so much I bought a second unit. |

AZiO E377-U31 Black External Enclosure
Cons:A little bigger than I thought, fan is not loud but not silent either. Lights are too bright
Pros:Easy to install, seems cool, works like a charm Comment:
Extremely easy to install!! Using it for a PVR, flipped the latch, internal piece slid out, slid in hard disk, closed it up, powered it up and voila! Nice finish, no screws, and the aluminum seems very cool to the touch. Plastic clips worked well. With the fan turned on, its not loud but it is not silent either. Nice touch to have a button that you can turn it on of off. Without the fan on the aluminum is slightly warm which indicates that the enclosure is doing a decent job of cooling. With the fan on the case is extremely cool which means it is probably not needed. Used electric tape to cover the bright lights. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-05-11 05:53 AM |

AZiO E377-U31 Black External Enclosure
Cons:Breakable plastic drive tray.If you accidentally drop it with drive still attached to it.
Pros:On/off Option use of fan as desired by user.Tooless Install. Comment:
I tumbled on this Azio enclosure and found out it is not bad for someone who may like to change out the drive occasionally as basically it is tooless when comes to self-assembling. Though you will have to be careful when handling the inner tray especially when you detach it from its housing with one already installed 3.5" hard drive. It is fragile plastic ! Got it yesterday and installed a Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB in it.Worked flawlessly right away. Perfect solution for network storage (plugged in the usb port in my WNR3500L).The fan is a bit loud when working but it seems to stop by itself when the drive is cool. (need more testing to be sure)So far so good |

AZiO E377-U31 Black External Enclosure
Cons:- a bit on the heavy side
Pros:- solid built- have power button- can control the fan (on/off)- screw-less Comment:
I just got my Azio external case and it looks great. It looks very well built, solid but a bit on the heavy side. There are no screws to deal with so mounting the hard drive to the case is quite simple.I would buy another one of this down the road. It appears to be a great case for its price range. |
No want of screw driver; Fast set-up; Not operating with my laptop USB three. port. Everytime I attempt it, OS complains and want me to format the drive in order to use it. However, when I connect it to USB 2. port, it performs fine and recognizes all the data in the really hard drive. I also plug in Segate GoFlex USB 3. external hard drive to the USB three. port, which works completely properly - this indicates the port nevertheless functioning.I am not sure what causes this. HDD itself?HDD driver?Power? Also, the extrusion element of release button is not tight sufficient to avert the tray from sliding, unless you push the case truly seriously really hard.
