Acer T230Hbmidh Black 23" 2ms Touch-Activated Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:Speaker power is very weak

Pros:Works well overall, touch is relatively responsive
Comment:
Overall it's a good monitor, and the touch is relatively responsive. The monitor looks good, and the picture quality is nice compared to other monitors in this price range. The only weak point is that its built-in speakers produce very little volume, similar to a low-end laptop.

Acer T230Hbmidh Black 23" 2ms Touch-Activated Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: Bulky

Pros: affordable touch screen monitor
Comment:
This is the affordable touch screen monitor. It won't dazzle you with its colors but it's quite affordable for touchscreen. When deciding to buy this, make sure you want a touchscreen monitor. If yes, this is the most affordable option.

Acer T230Hbmidh Black 23" 2ms Touch-Activated Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:Minimalistic user manual, difficult to reach control buttons

Pros:Nice picture quality, great multi-touch touchscreen functionality
Comment:
I have always liked the idea of a touchscreen computer ever since I tried a Microsoft Surface demo. The HP Touchsmart is a nice to have but far too expensive. When I saw the Acer T230H here, I jumped at the opportunity. Compared with other 23" monitors, the picture quality is at par. The 80000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response seem to be accurate as I had been looking at a couple of 50000:1 2ms LCD monitors from Samsung and LG. I think the colour quality may not be quite as good as the Samsung or LG panels. The most important aspect of this monitor is the multi-touch touchscreen function. This is a resistive touchscreen, so you can use a stylus or your finger. I run the T230H using Windows 7 Ultimate and the support is plug-and-play. There was no calibration required. The touchscreen is very responsive, and requires little pressure to trigger. Drag and swipes are easily registered. The screen surface is glossy, but does not show any finger prints which is very nice. Surprising, the touch-sensitive surface is not very reflective once the monitor is operating. In the off state, the monitor is a pretty good mirror. When I first plugged in the monitor and the USB cable (for operating the touchscreen function), my computer did not recognize the device properly. My computer is a Thinkpad laptop which I usually use with my LCD monitor in an extended desktop configuration. Strangely, the touch gestures ended up referencing the laptop secondary screen. The problem did go away after I played with a few of the Windows 7 touchscreen settings. I think the one setting that corrected the problem was found in the Intel video setting screen and not in Windows. So perhaps the "bug" was an Intel driver bug. Overall, I am very happy with the Acer T230H touchscreen monitor. It is a nice monitor as just a monitor. The touchscreen control provides a user experience that goes well beyond the keyboard and mouse. If you cannot imagine such an experience, go to YouTube and search for "Microsoft Surface" for some video demos of the cool things a multi-touch touchscreen enables.
