Acer Timeline AS1410-8837 Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 3GB 250GB 11.6IN WXGA HD Vista Premium Notebook
Cons:• THE WORST track pad I've ever used.• Annoying French Canadian keyboard layout.• Reflective Bezel around the screen.
Pros:• Much faster than your average Netbook.• Great battery life.• Great performance/price ratio.• Pretty stylish design. Comment:
This notebook is a perfect product for someone who's looking for a powerful netbook. It's faster than any other netbook I've tested and it's got a great battery life to boot. I was able to run it for 5 hours on high performance setting (to watch x264 encoded HD movies), and close to 7 hours on power saving mode.Overall great product, however, there are a few design problems that I just could not get used to. This thing has the worst track pad I've ever used. There is no distinct border between the armrest and the track pad, so my fingers were constantly missing the pad surface (there isn't even a textual difference). Also, the keyboard has the French Canadian layout, which means the shift and enter keys are shortened and have backslash () key is placed so close to them. This makes using shift and enter keys a real pain because you keep typing backslash instead. |
More powerful than a netbook and has great keyboard size for comfortable typing. Can use for small development and big app use trading off for slower performance.
