Addonics Dual 2.5IN Mobile SATA Hard Drive Enclosure Build in Hardware RAID Support USB eSATA
Cons:too much sensitive or I got a bad enclosure, drive get down and could kill the raid, blinking redesata seem unstable which is why I bought it in the first place
Pros:can be powered over USBeasy to usedoes not get warm, at least with 2x 500gb 5400.6 seagate, maximum temps recorded was about 49c after 2 hours of coying fileesata is a big plus |
I bought this enclosure because I wanted a fast mobile storage, esata+raid0 was the reason for it.after some research my biggest fear before buying it was a heating problem but I found out it was fine but then connection problem did happen.trying to do a full format on a raid0 over esata never worked, i had to use the usb connection. after the format was done, i started copying about 350gb of data on it over the esata, I got a few quick computer freeze(less than a sec but was noticeable since i was listening mp3)sometime, just touching the case to see how warm it was killed the connection with blinking red, it didn't actually create data corruption but I had to power down and up the enclosure to get everything back, this did happen mostly with esata but I got a few with USB too.in the end, the most stable connection seem to be USB, i never got a computer freeze.Since the whole purpose of getting it was speed and the fact that esata wasn't stable, I decided to get a refund and find something else.
