Antec Gain (BXR-100 WHI) White Bluetooth receiver (White)
Cons:Could be louder
Pros:Affordable, very tiny. Comment:
Bought this to pretty much leave on my desk with my bluetooth keyboard and mouse, as a sort of bluetooth desk dock station for my Mac Book Air. The range is good, started working right away once paired and selected as the audio output. The range seems pretty good too. The device is very tiny, smaller than expected. I guess this can be gauged in the picture by considering the size of the 3.5mm headphone port, and the USB port relative to the size of the rest of it. I'm using these to drive a pair of Razer Carcharias. These are fairly large headphones. It gets ample volume.I've definitely buy again at this $35 price. |

Antec Gain (BXR-100 WHI) White Bluetooth receiver (White)
Cons:Poor volume, atrocious sound quality at high volumes
Pros:Small, light, clicky buttons, good range Comment:
Grabbed this to save my phone from getting snagged via the headphone cable (happened a few times). At first glance it's a great little device, pairs easily and is very functional with tactile buttons and a microphone. Unfortunately, the sound quality is really bad at higher volumes, which don't even go very high. Using this on a pair of Monster Turbine Pro's- not exactly low sensitivity. Would rate lower but that requires an NCIX order- purchased elsewhere. |
I'm extremely pleased with my purchase of the Antec Gain. It allows you to use your own headphones and connect to your gadgets wirelessly. Sound isn't perfect, but it's more than I expected for $40. It doesn't seem terribly durable, but only time will tell there. I've had some "interesting" moments with the connection -- losing the ability to speak into the mic while using my Nexus 4; non-responsiveness to particular controls -- but I have no idea whether that's the device acting up, or if my phone is the culprit.Long story short: a small, extremely useful, better than expected quality and great value product that you will most likely be happy with, unless you go all wannabe-audiophile-snob and get disappointed with less than 100% (but not far from it) audio quality through a wireless connection
