Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:All the ventilation is in the center so it might not work as well on laptops that require extra cooling on a side vent.
Pros:Cooled laptop enough to stop it from shutting down. Comment:
A client had an HP Notebook that was shutting down due to overheating. After being sent back to HP it was worse than before. This cooler actually makes the junky HP laptop usable. |

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:none that i can see
Pros:cooled my notebook immediately. Comment:
Exceeded my expectations. I noticed a difference immediately in my notebook temperature. Plus the look of it is quite nice too. And the fact that it's powered by usb is another awesome feature. Also very lightweight cuz of its plastic and aluminum build. I only have 1 fan under my laptop so the computer heats up very fast and very hot, but this does such a great job that i could use it on my lap w/o it burning my thighs. Would really recommend this one! |

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:Doesn't work with notebooks that intake air through the bottom making it worthless, usb cord feels like it'll snap at anytime, no way to shut off bright blue light.
Pros:Looks nice, cool touch Comment:
I'm really upset that this cooler actually made my laptop even hotter then before since the air intake of my notebook is at the bottom. But that isn't what upsets me the most... 1. The bottom of this does not look at all like the one under specifications, instead the holes in the bottom are covered with a huge plastic cover meaning if I went out and bought 2 pin fans it would be insanely loud. 2. The fans inside of it cannot be reversed because it blows air to the sides instead of to the back. Which really ticks me off because in the pictures on the common sites show that you can see the guy's table right though the cooler which made me think "hey if it sucks air then I could just reverse the fans".3. The sales person had stamped my reciept "final sale no exchange and no refund" which means I can't do anything, especially since the link under specifications came after I bought it with my credit card. But I do think that this product will work for notebooks that blow hot air to the bottom but for notebooks that don't this item is definetly not the way to go. |

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:Slightly short USB cord...annoyance if your USB ports are all on the right side of your notebook.
Pros:Quiet. Cools great. No need for external power...uses USB port. USB passthrough so you don't lose the port. 3 yr warranty. Comment:
A great notebook cooler...my first, and it surpasses expectations. The construction is nice, and the aluminum is perfectly suited for cooling...it's cool to the touch even at room temperature. The 2 fans are incredibly quiet on the "low" setting and are only slightly audible on the "high" setting over the average laptop's ambient running noise. It has a dramatic cooling effect on my Asus...after a session with this cooler on "high", the computer's bottom side feels almost at the same temperature as when I first pull it out of its case. Without the cooler, the Asus tends to run pretty hot (especially since it has an ATI Mobility 9600 and generally a "desktop replacement" config). The fact that it runs off a USB port and thus requires no additional power supply is another big plus (a must-have, in fact) in my book. And you don't lose the port because the cooler has a USB passthrough feature (although you couldn't really run any other USB-powered device on it).The only minor annoyance is that the USB cord is very short (a bit too short, frankly)...it does not reach USB ports on the right side of the notebook computer. I do have a couple of ports on the rear-right side, and the only way it reaches them is by routing it underneath the cooler, not around it. One possible workaround is simply to use the cooler "backwards", but that's not the perfect solution since the cooler's design accounts for airflow when the computer is used in the right orientation on it (and it's fans blow out the rear, which would then be toward the user if it were backward). Still, I consider that a somewhat minor shortcoming...still happy with this device. And its 3-year warranty is a nice surprise...generally have come to expect 1-year with items like this. |

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:None so far
Pros:Fits underneath your laptop, comes with a passthrough USB cable, no power adapter needed Comment:
This is a great addition to your notebook collection. While it may not make the hugest different in temperatures, you'll notice that it will keep the underneath of your laptop cooler (it gets REALLY hot REALLY fast). It is also powered by a USB port on your laptop, so you don't need a power outlet. The USB connector also features a pass-through connector, so you won't lose a USB port. |

Antec Notebook Cooling System (Black) Model NoteBook Cooler
Cons:It is pretty difficult to open the power cable storage on it, so beware, awkward placement of on/off switch.
Pros:Fits my 15'4" laptop, lightweight, USB powered, can barely hear it over my laptop's fans. Comment:
Overall, an excellent product from Antec. The grill that covers the twin 80mm fans is aluminium, and is machined very nicely. It does an excellent job keeping temps down in my laptop. |
It's a very very quiet cooler. I had to stare at it and put my ear to it just to be sure it was on!I have a 15" laptop and it's just too small for it. My laptop over hangs it and it wobbles on it. So I'll have to return this cooler. However it's important to mention I have a gamer laptop that runs hotter than standard laptops. This cooler keeps my gamer laptop nice and cool to the touch. So the cooler does it's job.Overall this cooler is quiet, price is good (pricematch it!), small light and easily portable. But it's definatly too small for 15" laptops and above unfortunately. It's hard to type when the laptop is wobbling on the cooler. Also the fans blow upward, so it would be ideal for a laptop with a bottom intake fan. Not suitable if the laptop vents from the bottom, but most don't now. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-31-09 08:37 AM
