Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 5970 VGA Cooler for ATI 5970 Video Card
Cons:
Doesn't cool VRM's, Can damage your card if you overtighten the x-plates, expensive, huge size could block 2nd PCI-E slot on some boards.
Pros: Superb cooling, Fan only audible at highest speed |

Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 5970 VGA Cooler for ATI 5970 Video Card
Cons:
None Yet! Other then instructions are vague!
Pros: What an awesome cooler! Keeps the card running at 35C at idle at 40% fan speed. 58C at 60% fan speed. Awesome. Comment:
I have the Sapphire OC 5970. All I can say is WOW does this thing work well. If I crank the fan up to 100% it will idle at 28C but I just leave it on auto. Stock cooler kept it around 55C at idle at the same fan speed. So you can see how well it does it's job. |
This cooler is for anyone who wants to overclock their 5970 without getting triple digit temps. It's near silent and will drop your temps 20-30C depending on your case cooling. I've got weak cooling and it still drop s at least 20C, that's overclocked to 5870 levels. Noise levels are my favorite part of this cooler, I can only hear the fan when it's at 100% but it's a low hum.The stock cooler does a better job of the VRM temps (I believe these are the chips on the back of the cooler which show up as VDDC on GPU-Z). I can hit 150C on furmark which is the insanely high but in games they only go to 60-80C which is fine. I knocked off a star because of this and the installation dangers.
