Affordable Just doesn't work Tried it on a Samsung SyncMaster 941BW Monitor and got no signal. Traded this adapter out for one more one of the similar sort (female DVI to male VGA) that is getting utilized on another personal computer to make sure it was not the monitor or the cables and it worked fine.

It does not perform for me, so I don't see any pros, and I am not going to do anything additional to see if I can get it to function. It was affordable, however. I does not do what I was hoping for, that is connecting a DVI cable via a KVM switch and getting the VGA output from the video card recognized as such and going to my monitor. I don't really have a clue what this thing's usefulness is.

Does what it was created for. Only does what it was created for. This is made to convert DVI to VGA on the GRAPHICS card.DVI is reverse compatable to VGA with this adapter. VGA is not foreward compatable to DVI. Darn

None. Did not function with Dell 2405FPW or Westinghouse L2410NM. I know the dvi cable is fine. The adapter is not. Do not purchase it.

Properly, here's what i do: i connect DVI cable to DVI port of my video card, the other end of the DVI cable I connect to an analog CRT monitor via this converter.It didn't work! I guess it's just lucky for people to get it work depends on the sort of VGA card or the monitor itself!

affordable. good high quality. i bought this so i could plug my lcd monitor's dvi cable into my laptop's vga output. properly i was disappointed to discover that this does not function due to the fact the laptop's vga connector is analog and the monitor is dvi-d (digital) and all you get is a black screen. while this isn't any person's fault but my own. i do believe a warning footnote must be added to the product listing. i think several individuals make this mistake. nonetheless i discovered my monitor comes with a vga cable port so ill just go that route when necessary. ha! in spite of this minor "learning encounter" i think newegg is awesome.

Cost minimal and, as usually, NewEgg got this to me speedily. Plug fit both connections and the small screws held everything in location just fine. I'm positive it works in some cased but in my case it did not work. Study will show you there are diverse types of DVI technologies and if yours is digital, this will not work for you. If you have digital (DVI-D) you'll require a converter box and at that price you may well as well purchase an analog monitor. The cost is so minimal there is no reason to spend the money to return it. Looks like I have another additional converter plug to put in the drawer.
