Asus Video Card EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 256Bit PCI-E Dual DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort Retail
Cons:
A tad longer than some cards but the power plug is on the side which should help in tight situations
Pros: Great value! Comment:
Added this card to an AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition rig and, at stock speeds, it scored 18,000 on 3DMark06. We had a problem with a 5770 giving the Black Screen of Death in games on higher settings... so we replaced it with this one and now it just flies. (BTW, the 5770 works fine in another system.... go figure). Quiet. Temps keep under 70 degrees in my limited testing. So far... very impressed. |
Overall this is a great product. I did some research on several different 6850 cards (XFX, HIS, Sapphire, Gigabyte) and the Asus card consistently came up as one of the best performers in terms of silence and power consumption. The factory overclock is nothing more than a gimmick, but you can definitely overclock it a lot more.I would definitely buy it again... (maybe to run CrossFireX!)
