great card
Comment:
Before I purchased this card I was using onboard sound with Logitech Z-5500 speakers and the sound was decent. Got this card and loaded the drivers etc and the sound improved a lot compared onboard. Sounds better then Soundblaster I have in another system as well. I suggest you get this card if you have 5.1 or better speakers and want hassle free installion and great sound |

Truly the Most POWERFUL & Dynamic Card Ever
Comment:
When I first installed the Asus sound card, I had the same problems with channel switching that the other reviewer had. I phoned the Canadian tech support and the guy I spoke with was totally useless and ignorant of the fact that the company he worked for even carried this card. He even sounded very antisocial and wouldn't answer my questions throughout our session. His final recommendation was to return the card because "it incompatible with my Dell motherboard". Instead of returning the card, however, my hunch was that I was experiencing a driver related problem. hmmmm Anyway, after I downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for the card from the Asus website, the card now surpasses any expectations I had of it. By far, this card turned out to be the most powerful card with the most options on it that I ever came across. Thank God I didn't rely on the inexperience of that rather rude sounding novice tech support fellow and kept the card. |

Asus Xonar D2 Ultra Fidelity 7.1 PCI Sound Card
Comment:
Bought the card, today and returned it back to store the same day. After calling Asus for help, basically was told to send it back to Asus for RMA, instead of doing RMA (about 2 week process) was better to just return it back to store. Card was suffering from very weird issue, speaker channels kept swapping on the card. Everytime i played some type of audio, channels were in diffrent order. For example center channels, once it was fine, then suddenly it started playing in left channel, then it jumped to left rear. Every few seconds channels were in diffrent order. Tomorrow Will pick up Auzentech X-Fi Prelude. |
Excellent so far, no issues
