Audio-Technica ATH-WS55BK Solid Bass Over Ear Headphone
Cons:none
Pros:Good sounding headphones Comment:
Great headphones. Got them on sale for a good price. I mainly listen to rock and punk music to give you an idea of what I am basing my review from. I've used it to watch shows and movies on my tablet as well and these headphones have performed well.Sound quality wise, they do need a bit of break in time. Initially, the bass sounds a bit heavy and muffled, which kills the rest of the sounds. I left the headphones playing for a few hours. It was sufficient enough to let the headphones break in and open up. It is definitely more bass oriented but I feel that it is not overpowering. It does well for rock and feels as it is part of the music. It's not over powering and definitely not like the beats headphones. If you have been to a rock, punk concert you know the bass lines are quite prominent. I think these headphones do a good job mirroring that experience. The sound stage is a little more closed off than I would like, but it is not off putting. The treble and mid range response is smooth. Not harsh at all and I did not feel fatigued after listening for an hour. I've also used it to watch some movies and shows on my tablet as mentioned earlier. The headphones handled that quite well. Again, smooth responses throughout. I do have a set of Polk Audio Ultrafocus 8000 headphones that I use primarily for audio listening. Compared to that, these are not as smooth but then again, the Polks cost a lot more than the Audio Technicas. For the price and value these are great headphones with great sound and response. |
Overall, great headphones for the price of $59. would definitely recommend.
