Audio-Technica ATH-WS99 Solid Base Over Ear Headphones
Cons:Not the most comfortable headphones ever, the cable is very short, 1st pair fried after a week and had to RMA.

When it comes down to it, a pair of headphones should have good sound. These do. The WS99 are a solid pair of headphones sound wise. The have an intense edge to their sound, a very solid, powerful bass, but not overpowering, the mids and highs are crisp and clear, but not piercing. My only complaints are the round ear cups, the sort of squish the ears a bit, and fit very snug on the head, maybe a bit too snug. More oval ear-shaped cups would help, and a longer cable. But hey for $240 headphones, these sound pretty damn good. I have used a friends LCD2 headphones, and the WS99 holds up well to a $1000 pair of cans.
