Audioengine 5 Premium Bookshelf Style Powered 75 Watt 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for PC or Mac - Black
Cons:- Price premium for bamboo finish is high- Does not go to sleep automatically
Pros:- Sound quality, accuracy- Build quality- Dual active inputs and RCA output- Convenient USB power- All required cables provided, fabric bags for transport- Banana plug compatible speaker connectors Comment:
Using these as a simple, compact solution for living room music listening. The inputs make it very versatile for any device. These things sound as good, if not better, than a solution at over double the price with a receiver, two good Mission speakers and a subwoofer. Had trouble believing what I was hearing. Sound fills a large room very well. Bass is spot on without being exaggerated. The "sweet spot" is where you'll appreciate the quality most of course.Highly recommended, especially if you categorize these as computer speakers. They blow anything Logitech out of the water, and I'm a fan of their other computer peripherals. |

Audioengine 5 Premium Bookshelf Style Powered 75 Watt 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for PC or Mac - Black
Cons:Not enough bass
Pros:Great sound, good features, look great Comment:
To really make the best of these, you need to turn up the bass on either your computer or a mixer. At low volume, they're pretty basic, for best listening results, crank them up. |

Audioengine 5 Premium Bookshelf Style Powered 75 Watt 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for PC or Mac - Black
Cons:Really big for a desktop
Pros:Good looking Comment:
I have had them a month and the clarity is better then my home system. When I'm gaming the sound is very crisp. I found with out a sub it wasn't full enough though. So I bought an audioengine sub. Now I rather listen to music in my room, off my computer. Worth the money if you can afford it. |
Break these beauties in for 40 hrs or so.....high end sound opens up after run in period and lots of pure power volume....as good as separate receiver/speakers.....no need for subwoofer...I'm enjoying music and construction ie. bamboo wood of these beauties.
