BELKIN F1DK102U Compact KVM Switch with Cables, USB
Cons:
Buggy. Occasionally doesn't work properly. Occasionally doesn't work at all.
Pros: Mac and PC compatible, only requires USB/VGA which virtually all computers support. Comment:
Used with a combination of 2 Macs, 2 PC's, and a 1 Mac and 1 PC. It worked fine most of the time, but occasionally would crap out, meaning it wouldn't switch. I had to shut down and unplug both machines, and replug for it work properly again. I have no idea why it would do this. I suspect it happens when you change USB devices a lot (like a flash drive). Good for the price ($40) |
I use this with a mac and a pc and it works great. The switch is solidly built and wires are nice and durable. Got it for $15 on surprise special and totally worth the dime. Sometimes, it does have issues registering the usb keyboard and mouse after recovering from sleep, but just unplug and plug your USB device - it starts working. The only indication of which machine is on is switching between orange and green led lights.
