BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:customer service
Pros:light weight, nice design, easy to setup, great value($29.99) Comment:
Great value during promotion, easy to use setup interface(detailed information for each function really helpful), signal looks ok for me,I put the router in basement, got more than 50% signal in bedroom(only 20%-30% with my old Moto G router).the only concern is customer support. I bought the router today, got firmware version 2.01.06 (Jul 2 2009 22:24:38) installed, when I try to download new firmware from Belkin website, the most updated firmware is version 2.01.03, that's ridiculous and unacceptable.I still give it 5 stars because I can't find any cheaper router with features like this one. great for home or small office, not for experts |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:wireless connection would drop often, now it doesn't work at all
Pros:Setup was pretty easy Comment:
I bought this on sale. It was fairly easy to setup, but it would need to be reset a lot. My connection was fast, but then it just stopped working and the modem light is flashing yellow. My modem works fine, something is just wrong with the router. Going to return it, probably won't buy Belkin again. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
Sporadic Network Issues and lock-ups
Pros: Price, size, simplicity Comment:
Bought this knowing full well that there have been many reports of transfers freezing, stalling etc. I was going to use this item strictly as an access point (not as a router) so I thought between that and the latest firmware I might be able to avoid the issues so many users have complained about. The device installed easily, it does offer 300 links and for regular web surfing/email it was OK. The problem is that streaming video over the network highlighted some issues. The video would freeze and the laptop would 'loose' the network connection to the device.Closer investigation also showed that the laptop client also had sporadic network performance during regular non-intensive network tasks.Ultimately I discovered that the issues everyone else reported widely on the Internet were true - there really is a problem with this unit.It was inexpensive and I did know the risks. I thought that running the unit as an access point only (not as a router) would enable me to sidestep these issues - unfortunately that's not the case.I re-installed the old WRT54GL and while it's much slower, the intermittent network issues immediately went away and video streamed as smoothly as always (until the Belkin unit was installed).Range with the Belkin was surprisingly good, the price was great but the network issues kind of make it unusable for any important work over the network. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
A poor quality router. You get what you pay for. Nothing but problems with my VOIP Phone.
Pros: Good for general web surfing. Comment:
This has been a complete waste of money (certainly no bargain). Although I forwarded ports for VOIP, the ports would reset automatically and ultimately cause problems. I tried to update the firmware, but consistently receive errors that I couldn't resolve. Many other users ont he net seem to have similar problems and frustrations. Stay away from this router. I bought a Linksys E2000 and problems gone. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
Not wall mountable, blue LED lights are very bright
Pros: Good signal, UI has more information / settings than other routers. One touch reconnect button. Comment:
Bought one on Saturday, was toast the next morning. Was able to exchange at a different NCIX store with no hassles since the store I purchased at was closed on Sundays. Price was awesome at $26, the Source has this on "clearance" for $59.99Besides that, the router works well, set up was a breeze, security set up was simple. Reconnect buttons is very handy if you have a flaky provider / service. Strong signal through ought whole house, Signal is clear and consistent. |

looks like junk
Pros: Stable so far Comment:
Seems rock solid so far. Replaced an Asus RT-N16 which was dissapointing. Wireless is much more stable with this one. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
occasional slowdown, but that's probably because I attach another Belkin wireless router to this router for my tenants in the basement.
Pros: Cheap, cost me ~$25 after tax, just as good as any other ~$70 routers without discounts. Comment:
Cheap, period.Decent product from Belkin. No other manufacturers dare give such a huge discount to NCIX.I also have the N150 basic N router from Belkin, and both work great.BTW if your computers are within 1 floor distance I'd say you can buy the N150 basic instead of this N300. Save yourself a few dollars, because this one with 300Mbps is just unnecessary. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
none so far
Pros: its a great router, it has a good range, it beats my broken one. Comment:
i bought this to replace my broken d-link router and so far so good, im not a fan of the placement of the antenae seems like they sshgould be on the back, other than that the range is far better than my old dlink and the setup is painless... surely they all should be. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
The antennas are not detatchable, so there is no way to add a bigger antenna. There are no wall mounting holes, so it can only be used on a desktop or other flat surface. The power cable is too short.
Pros: Easy to set up. It has a "wireless access point" mode, that automatically turns off the DHCP server, firewall, and other advanced features. This was perfect, because I just wanted to add "N" support to my existing Telus Optik TV D-Link 3810 router. Comment:
I live in a 3 story house, 2000 square foot house, and I have the router installed ON THE MIDDLE FLOOR. The signal upstairs on "802.11G" isn't much better than the signal I got from the old router (D-Link 3810) which was installed IN THE BASEMENT. The WiFi on my iPhone 4 fluctuates between 2 and 3 bars in the upstairs bedroom. On the old router (in the basement) I consistently got 2 bars in the upstairs bedroom. I tried unscrewing the antennas, so I could attach a bigger one, but they are permanently attached. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
no wall mounts
Pros: Good signal, easy to set up, excellent menus Comment:
Not much to say here, it works right out of the box. Has lots of selection for settings. I wish wall mounts were included like the D-link routers do. I'm taking a star off because it lost its WAN IP once (forcing a reboot), whereas my ancient D-Link always renewed it's WAN IP if it changed. Also, my Wireless light never comes on -- even when I have an active wireless connection, but no biggie. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:
The power cable it comes with could have come a little bit longer.
Pros: Ascetically pleasing, incredibly fast transfer speeds over wireless. Solved previous lag issues I've had before. Comment:
I bought this to replace my old Belkin wireless router.I've had good experiences with Belkin before and this router here is no exception. Transfer speeds via wireless are incredibly fast, averaging around 8mb+ a second. Was easy to setup. I didn't need to use the CD to set it up. Heads up, the router does not ship with a default wireless password. |

Cons:
Base of the router can be more stable
Pros: Great Signal StrengthEasy setup Comment:
Set this router in the basement storage closest. I was worried that the signal may not be received on the 2nd floor but I was able to descent signal strength. Setup took about 20 mins.Have not needed to reset the router and hope it stays that way. |

Cons:
none to speak of
Pros: Easy setup, wireless, price Comment:
As others have said, this is very easy to set up. Had it running in less than 10 minutes and no problems yet. I managed to get this last week on sale for $25, so for that price it's hard to beat. Belkin makes high quality products, and this is no exception. |

BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router
Cons:None... so far
Pros:Strong signal, One Touch setup, Belkin, $45 on sale Comment:
It was an easy product to setup. The One Touch setup actually worked! Wireless N for $45, you can't go wrong. |
I bought it to replace a wireless G. So far, everything loaded up much faster even with other wireless laptops connecting to the network. Hopefully, it will last long enough.
