Cons: Not the greatest back plate that tilts for the angle

Pros: Good Design
Comment:
Purchased in sale at half price. Needed some cooling, so went for this. Pleasant position for typing, good temps, flows air out in an efficient manner.

Don't waste your money
Comment:
Bought one of these on Dec 29th, started making noise after about three weeks, died after 6 weeks. Thought the curved design would help cooling but it just made using the laptop cumbersome.

Never buy
Comment:
Not two months after I bought this did three blades break off the fan. The stand was flimsy and very uncomfortable on my legs. The stand also kept falling on the wiring, with time I'm sure would have damaged the connection. Spend $10 on a much more durable, reliable cooler instead of almost $30 on this one.

Can't believe how reasonable price wise, how efficient and feel good I'm protecting my lap top. Great Buy!

Short lifespan shocking shut down
Comment:
This product was wonderful for about two months then the fan started getting loud, and the stand on the bottom collapsed, then while the fan was in operation my computer started shutting down with no warning, after as little as an hour of work.

Expensive Junk
Comment:
Thinking this would solve my overheating computer issues while typing on the bed, I bought this. The fan was loud, and got louder per day. Day 5 the Usb, fan plug connector, broke, thus fixing the noise problem. the pads don't slow the computer from sliding off, other then that, its a expensive replacement for a hard back book I used previously.

when i got this as a gift, i loved it; until the fan bearing gave out and started making more noise than a weed whacker. don't waste your money on a crap bearing.

1 for each star. The performance, quality, and features were horrible. This is the second mat I have ever purchase and they both turned out horrible. the mat worked longer than the previous targus one but results were the same.

Great price, not so great features
Comment:
I bought this becuase I don't have a lot of money to put into what is essentially an over-priced fan. Although, it's not as quiet as I would have hoped, it's not too loud to be a distraction. I have a 7lb. 17" laptop that sits nicely on this unit. Unfortunately, with the USB ports on the side on my laptop, I really have to stretch the very short included USB cable so that it will reach. Only other problem is that the height adjuster leg does not lock out and a slight push on my laptop and the unit collapses. I'll probably return this one and go for a slightly more expensive model.

Fine product

Had this one over a year in an offshore environment w/NO problems. No cooler is designed to work properly on any surface other than flat and firm. My friends on the job all want ne because they can see how much more efficient to is compared to theirs. I own other Belkin products and have never had a problem w/any.

Bought two of these coolers. One for my laptop and one for my wife's. Had this cooler about three weeks before the stand broke off. Can not use with out the stand as the cooler wobbles without it. Then about a week after mine broke my wife's broke.

I hate to leave a bad review on a product cause im a big believer in sometimes you just get a ''bad one'' anyhow. This sucks. tip it to put it on your upper thighs when lying on the couch and it completely stops working.lay it flat, without the leg lever engaged and it cant suck any air to circulate and therefore sounds like its gasping for its last breath..looking forward to buying the one i should have bought. Targus..this is what i get for trying something new and being cheap. I wont ever buy another Belkin product again...crap.crap.crap..

I had gotten this for my wife before i got my own laptop. My laptop is bigger and heavier then most but this unit kept it cool. The issue i ran into though was the weight of my laptop started crushing the plastic into the fans so i had to stop using it.

Belkin really missed it on this design. The cooling concept looks great and probably works graet. The designer of this should go and work for Belkin's competitor. I had to return it. The USB cable is so short it will not plug in on any Laptop that has it's USB ports on the sides near the front. It won't work on my HP or Toshba laptops. No extra USB ports. The instructions were wrong also. They talk about plugging in the 3.5mm plug which is for audio and doesn't exist. If you USB ports are on the rear of your laptop or on the sides near the rear you will probably like this unit.

While it may only have one fan it's doing pretty good at keeping my laptop cool, I've had this for over a year now, i originally bought this ti keep a Dell Inspirion E1500 series cool, and it's gone through running on 4 laptops now. 2 I've borrowed and now my new one which is an Asus x83VM. The only thing (which hasn't happened in awhile now) was the fan started making a buzz sound, i thought it was going bad, but is hasn't done that in a few months. So i don't know that it was but it seemed to stop and the fan is still running strong, which it almost runs 24/7 now I'm sure it'll give out soon as all fans do, but I've gotten my money out of it, others may have just gotten a bad one, it happens but don't let it discourage you, mine has lasted over a year and still going.

I got this cooler as a Christmas present, and 2 weeks later the fan burned up. I used it mainly on the desk with the feet elevated so airflow shouldn't have been a problem. I think the ''wave'' shape is more hype than anything as it doesn't work very well anywhere but on a flat surface and tends to smother in your lap or soft surfaces. Sorry, but I can't recommend this product.

Cons:Only one fanFan is susceptible to interference from objects, especially when on your lap.Folding support does not lock, so have to be careful moving

Pros:LightFlexibleKeeps cpus 4-6 degrees celsius coolerKeeps mb 6-8 degrees celsius cooler
Comment:
I run my laptop about 90% crunching BOINC work units. This cooler does a great job keeping the cpu and mb cool. It's not perfect, but no external fan will be. The convex design and the positive fan direction work very well. I can run 100% at nights about 2 c above idle. Can't beat that. When working, especially in warm temeratures, I need to throttle BOINC to 80-90% to achieve the same temps. Still pretty good! It's also a bit noisy. I don't notice it, but some may.The fan location at the very bottom makes it too easy to touch. You can't just pick it up and fling it around. It's no big deal, just be careful. As with any cooler like this, finding the sweet spot may take some fiddling.I just bought another for my daughter.

I have just purchased this product about a week ago and put it to the test by having it on for 24/7 and the results are just truley amazing. It's like having a mini cooler/stand under your laptop that provides great value and comfort. I love this product for it's versatility and overall performance, honestly greater to my expected standards. Again I recommend this product to all laptop users that wnat to extend their notebooks life by keeping it just COOOLLL.

This stand is pretty good. Mainly when it is on a flat service. If it is sitting out your bed like i have mine, the vent to suck in the air is what it lays on. Even if you were to click out the stand, it still doesn't give it any height off the bed, the sheets swallow it. But it still works great, cause it's actually giving and air path under my laptop, which works well as it sits on my bed. I just keep it plugged in, because the vent lays on the bed.
