BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE1.0TU2 1TB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:Slower than my other drives but still OK
Pros:Easy to install Comment:
This drive is worth it for it's buck. I use it as a backup drive for my PC. Although it did take almost 6 hours to do a backup, the file size was like 600gb. |

BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE1.0TU2 1TB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:Slow. Data transfer rate.
Pros:Low price. Instant rebate. Comment:
Included TurboUSB software doesn't work with Windows Server 2003. Native data transfer rate seems to be 10 MB/sec. It will take over a day to back up the 900 GB on my server to this drive. Serial number on box and product is flagged invalid at Buffalo web site when attempting to download drivers etc. |

BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE1.0TU2 1TB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:turbo usb mode provides added boost for transfer but does not always work
Pros:large amount of storage, good price, relatively fast Comment:
So far so good. The best price-to-size among the name brands. Very quiet operation. I think there is an optional fan available for this on the buffalo website. The turbo usb software (proprietary to buffalo) gives a noticeable boost in speed but it does not work everytime. However, even in native usb 2.0 mode it is still very fast This review was modfied by poster @ 06-10-09 07:55 PM |

BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE1.0TU2 1TB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:None - other than I do not have any previous experience with Buffalo's hard drive products, so I can't comment on reliability.
Pros:Portable, cool, quiet, large storage, fast transfer speeds, auto-power down when the computer is off, nice look (standing or lying horizontal), and great value (on special at $129.99). Comment:
I purchased this drive (on special) to facilitate a second online copy of the pictures I have taken on my DSLR camera and for the working copies of the videos / slideshows I edit. So it complements well the DVD backups I have of everything. The large space is of primary benefit to me, but those considering its purchase would be happy to know that it is very quiet, cool even under continuous tranfers, stylish (to fit any decor at home/office) and transfers data very quickly on a USB 2.0 port.I did not use the included software in anyway; I only plugged it into my PC and it works right out of the box just fine. Not sure about its claims of having even faster transfers with their own software...I find the out of box transfer speeds just fine... This review was modfied by poster @ 04-11-09 02:45 PM |
I use this for backing up customers data, as well as backing up my laptop to it. I think this is a great product, and I am very glad I got this one. I highly recommend and I would buy again.
