BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE500U2 500GB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:No power switch, much unplugNot very durable

Pros:InexpensiveHigh performance hard drive and usb 2.0Easy installation (plug & go)
Comment:
Very easy to use and comes pre-formatted with FAT32. Not a high quality external hard drive but it's a good product for the $$$ (paid $85 taxes & shipping). Would purchase again.

BUFFALO DriveStation HD-CE500U2 500GB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive - Retail
Cons:Kinda slow, the 7200rpm is bottlenecked by the usb...Need another power source to start...

Pros:It works, doesn't take too much place
Comment:
I am not really happy with my purchase, not because this hard drive sucks or anything, but because the day after I bought it at 90$, the verbatin 750gb was 100$ with a free express shipping. Anyway, these slow hard drive, while having a strong capacity, feel a bit dated. The fact that you need an exterior power source all the time limit the mobility of that one and the 7200rpm feel useless since it's bottlenecked by the usb...

Cons:No power switchPower saving mode

Pros:Cheap500GB
Comment:
I got this on sale a couple weeks ago to use with my Bell PVR to backup my recordings. It works but it would be ideal if it had a power switch. It would be OK with a PC but my PVR is always powered on so I have to unplug it. Not really what I would call power saving mode.
