Belkin F7D1101 Basic N150/802.11N Wireless USB Adapter Black
Cons:
A little bulky, would be nice if it were sized like a nano transceiver.
Pros: Very good single stream USB Wireless N 2.4GHz antenna. Comment:
Got it for $4.99 on sale. No problems, works great. Download at 14.6Mbps, upload 0.83Mbps. For comparison, via Cat 5e, download at 16.4Mbps, upload at 0.86Mbps, so only a small loss. |

Belkin F7D1101 Basic N150/802.11N Wireless USB Adapter Black
Cons:
speed, compatibility
Pros: none that I'm aware of Comment:
After using it on two different machines (both running win7) I can warn you upfront that it does not work out of the box, windows doesn't recognize it and using it with the included drivers caused crashes on both machines. After downloading the latest drivers from belkin it was stable in both cases. No problem if you can download drivers on another pc but this likely won't get you up and runninng without another connection.Performance wise it's pretty unimpressive, I've been on the phone with telus for a couple weeks trying to figure out why my internet service has slowed down so much lately, I didn't make the connection until earlier tonight. If I have ONLY the belkin online I get speeds of approximately 2.5Mbps on what is normally a 8-12Mbps connection (belkin sees highs of 5Mbps and lows of........ won't even load a page before it times out). The worst part is that if it isn't the only wireless device running it slows everything else down too (IMac, PS3, 360slim). The performance of the other devices matches almost exactly what I see on the belkin, wich is why I was griping with telus about connection speed. Turn the belkin off and everything else speeds up.Your mileage may vary on this, I realize that wireless networking can be a bit of a crapshoot based on distances and configurations. However signal strengths on all devices are always strong and there is nothing in my set-up that is placed in a particularily bad spot, nor have I ever had this trouble with any of the MANY other wireless devices I've had in here over the last couple years. |

Belkin F7D1101 Basic N150/802.11N Wireless USB Adapter Black
Cons:
None so far
Pros: BGN support, WPS support (stated on box; some online comments says it doesn't have it; I haven't tried it as I don't use it I don't think :D), Compact size Comment:
NCIX had V2 (version 2); I have a V1 at home; both still going strong :-)To the other reviewer, get a USB extension cable to get a better signal; after all that is why you got a USB adapter - place it in a better location to get a stronger signal (vs a PCI card). If you get it on special, or PM, this is a pretty good wireless adapter. |

Belkin F7D1101 Basic N150/802.11N Wireless USB Adapter Black
Cons:
Works only as well as my ~5-year-old PCI adapter, no better. Unexpectedly bulky (it's about twice the size of an average USB stick).
Pros: Works as advertised, stable and fast in good conditions. Comment:
I bought this to replace the PCI card in my desktop, which gets a very shaky signal because I place my case in a little cubby in my computer desk, with its back against a wall. When I tried to get the adapter to work through the USB ports in the back of my case, it had roughly the same signal strength as the wireless card. It works but will not provide my computer a fantastic signal. |
bought this just because it was on sale for $5you never know when it can become handytried it, and nothing to complaign,it's working like it should
