BenQ GL2250TM 21.5IN LED 1920X1080 1000:1 16:9 12M:1 DVI-D Black
Cons:poor viewing angles when rotated vertically
Pros:Pivot Stand, Great Colours, relatively cheap price |
So this purchase took me for a bit of a ride. After a few days I started to notice some stuck pixels and vertical lines emerging in one of the corners of the display. So I called BenQ up and requested an RMA.The BenQ support was the best I've ever dealt with. They paid for a shipping label for me to ship the defective panel to them and just sent me a new one, which I just received about a week after mailing them the old one. And since they let me keep the pivot stand I now have two of them, which can be used on other monitors since it uses a standard VESA mount.About the monitor itself, I thought this was the same as the GW2250 A-MVA panel but it doesn't appear to be so. Specs state that it is a "VA" panel but when I rotate it standing up vertically I can't see half the screen due to poor viewing angles. However, the GW2250 when rotated with the pivot stand has perfect viewing angles when placed vertically.Personally, I think this would be a much better product if BenQ had used the GW2250 or GW2255 and just added the pivot stand.Despite this, I am pretty happy with my purchase. As long as you don't view it vertically it seems to have decent viewing angles and colour reproduction. For $135 I can't complain, and although RMA'ing it was frustrating BenQ support was very accommodating.
