BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:No 3d but who cares. Noisy when not in ECO mode.

Pros:Awesome image quality. Easy to setup. Plenty of inputs. Good looking. 4000 hours lamp in ECO mode.
Comment:
Ive had this projector for almost a year now and it's pretty much impossible to get a better projector at this price point. I'm still very satisfied with it. Movies and games look awesome. As with any projector, make sure you measure your throw distance before buying.

BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:Dead pixel. Scam rebate.

Pros:Decent quality image
Comment:
I wasn't aware that these projectors had a problem with dead pixels, yet the one I received has one in the center of the screen, making it slightly annoying. Also, I was promised a free second lamp from the mail-in-rebate, but that was 3 months ago and it has yet to come in. The fact that this projector has no vertical or horizontal lens adjustment makes it very hard to set up initially and limits where you can place it in a room. The brightness is surprisingly good, and the colors vivid, but I wouldn't make the same purchase again.

BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:heat

Pros:nice resolution
Comment:
I am dissapointed with the rebate offer that was not respected, i bought this projector in june 2012, we are in september and i am still waiting for the projector lamp they promised to send me by mail. Why is it taking so long to receive a simple lamp? The buttons on the top seem like they misaligned and are going to pop out. This projector produces a lot of heat. I will only be satisfied when i receive the lamp that was promised as a rebate offer.

BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:auto detect source never really turns off

Pros:Bright clear display, good blacks, great value, free bulb if you were lucky enuf to buy during the promotion
Comment:
I was very close to buying the Panasonic AR100U from another vendor due to the 2800 lumens but decided on this unit instead. I have had good service from NCIX and I am replacing a reliable Benq projector now. Plugged in and worked right away. The auto settings were fine for now. What a difference going from 720P to 1080P - more than I expected.

BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:If you are going to travel occasionally with this projector a smaller projector may be better.

Pros:Unbelievable image quality for the price

I have been using the BenQ W1100 for about two weeks and I am still amazed by the quality of the video image. One draw back, if you can believe, to my liking the videos come out too bright, the whites are almost blinding if the room is dark. To reduce the brightness effect, I actually leave some of lights on ... and the quality of the image is still GREAT ... full HD.Reducing the brightness affects the colour scheme so, I will need a little more time to find the right adjustment.I use the unit for business and also to watch television. A 91 inch projection for a football or hockey game is just perfect. But if you travel with your projector understand that the BenQ W1100 is a big machine.Just a comment on NCIX: I ordered the BenQ Thursday at 14:00 hour ... I received the next day, Friday, at 11:00 hour... in an other province. IMPRESSIVE !!!

BenQ W1100 Home Cinema Projector
Cons:Could have better black levels

Pros:Bright, well rounded, fabulous picture quality, great for movies, sports or gaming, extremely bright
Comment:
I had initially picked up the Epson 8350 because a friend recommended me to go for it. However I was a bit disappointed. The projector worked fine, the colors were great, it was fairly bright, it helps if you have placement issues; however coming from an older DLP unit, it lacked the POP, which most DLP users talk about. I was warned by some in the HT field that I was going to encounter that, but luckily I had 30 days to return it from the place of purchase. I then debated between the Mits HC4000 and W1100 and although most people say the HC4000 is a better projector I went with the BenQ W1100 because I needed something brighter for situations when I do have ambient light. I do not regret the purchase at all. I’m sure the HC4000 is a great projector as well, but the W1100 is grand in its own ways. First it is extremely accurate and sharp with details and the colors really blow everything I’ve seen before. The 8350 gave the type of image you’d see the movie theater. It’s great, but I prefer the more 3D look on an image, plus it looks so much better when you’re watching the games. I felt like the 8350 had this dull look on the image, but the colors seemed slightly better on the 8350, but only slightly. The W1100 seems to win in the category of horse power for lumen output and image size. Read that some setups can achieve up to 165”+ diagonal display without disrupting clarity of the image! I’m happy with my 110” display, at 11.5 feet viewing distance; I can’t ask more than have a beer in one hand and a bag of fresh popcorn in the other!
