Cons:Suited for specific Music genresLow sensitivity (96db SPL nominal)Exposed wire when taking headband offVelcro headband construction isn't greatAccessories don't include carrying caseLong burn-in time
Pros:Detachable CableMade in GermanyModular ConstructionGreat build quality and construction Comment:
I got this headphone on sale from NCIX at a price of $170 and I would have only purchased it at this price point. At it's regular price point I feel that the Beyerdynamic Custom One pro is better suited for a $200 price range the Akg K545/K551 and the Sennheiser Momentum provide a better experience in terms of audio quality and soundstage. This is still a great headphone but the low sensitivity of 96Db SPL nominal is a drawback. That means you have to raise the volume when using this headphone anywhere outside of a quiet atmosphere. That means compared to the Momentum's 112Db SPL the volume level would have to be at 75% , whereas on the Momentum it would need to be 50% or less. There are plenty of reviews on this headphone on the internet so I won't go into detail about it but before buying I recommend checking out reviews and auditioning this headphone. |

Cons:Not fold-ableVery large - uncomfortable to hang around neck for many people, and bulky to carryNon breathable ear cups
Pros:Adjustable bass channelsLarge over ear for most ear sizesClear low to high voicesAll detachable and customize-able parts: Cover plates, cord, headband, cushionDriver soft ear paddingThick and reinforced cordNoise isolatingSoft genuine leather headband and ear cupsAdjustable headband Comment:
The Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro headphones are often rated top 5 headphones under the price of $200. They offer a satisfying listening experience with comfortable padding that makes it stress free. However, the earphones are in fact non breathable due to it being noise isolating, possibly making it a bit uncomfortable for some users. With the contradicting con that it may be used as earmuffs on chilly days. The headphones are study but not flexible. The musical EQ for the headphones are nicely balanced but the quality of the mids could be cleaner as they may seem a bit muffled. The main attraction of these headphones are the adjustable base channels. They are nice for different genres but gets a bit annoying to constantly adjust and they will effect the sound quality. |
I thought they had hollow mids and highs and the lows weren't really living up to my expectations, I was under the assumption that these were in a class of there own in that they were 16 ohm headphones meaning that the quality was great for smaller devices like mp3 players without any kind of amplifier necessary but they were too quiet. super comfortable and the base ports design I thought was really cool, but hey I'd still recommend them but for a bass head like myself they were just underwhelming in that regard. If you had a decent amplifier I'm sure they would be much better.
