Coming from a pair of decent Sennheiser HD 558 I didn't expect such a jump in sound quality but I couldn't be happier with the change.Even paired with a low end sound card like the Asus Xonar DGX the DT880 will blow you away. Music, Games, Movies. Especially games, the immersion is fenomenal with these.My friend who was a skeptic about any investment in sound quality was blown away speechless after gaming on my setup for an evening.Do yourself a favor! Buy these on sale if you can! Get a budget soundcard with a headphone amp. And enjoy some of the better sounding headphones without breaking the bank.Only downside I can think of with these is that the cable isn't changeable like the one on the Sennheiser is, which can be a problem for some or if it gets damaged. But so far it seem very sturdy built.

DT880 are reference headphone. They sound very nice, but you need a good output to drive them properly. You will hear some track like if it's the first time your hear it.
