Braven 570 Bluetooth Speaker w/ Built In Powerbank and Speakerphone - Lunar Black
Cons:The rubber footing and your table/shelf surface grip... read on - explained in summary
Pros:Nice colour - sounds very good - great price point and quality Comment:
20141230: My first experience... The power on/off switch is not working.I just brought this home today 2014-12-30. I followed the instructions in the Owner's Manual and fully charged it before first use. I waited 2.5 hours for it to charge fully. And I was very disappointed after all that anticipation to find that the power on/off switch was not functioning properly. I am assuming manufacturing/assembly defect. I wish no harm to the assembly worker(s). Unfortunately, I will have to return to NCIX tomorrow to pick up an exchange and this time I would like to check it first while still in the store before bringing it home. The Owner's Manual seems to suggest that there is an "included wall power adapter". Well, there isn't one.I must also note that the NCIX site description and the one on the box correctly describes the contents of the box despite the inaccuracies of the Owner's Manual.(currently, I will rate this product as "Completely Unsatisfactory" because... well, I can't try it. The colour it flat black which is what I was looking for and the paint finish seems very nice, all the buttons and connectors seem to work from what I can tell without turning it on. The box was sealed as expected.I guess I will have to come back and update this post after I test the exchange tomorrow. This review was modfied by poster q 12-31-14 12:51 AM 20141231: Now exchanged with the greatest of ease at NCIX and had the opportunity to play with the Braven 570. This is quite an amazing device despite it being so light - I would not have believed that it could output that much physical vibration to move the box around if you turn it up all the way. I would suggest you not turn it up all the way if you are resting the Braven 570 on a table top. The bass is what I like no treble... the bass is pretty good for such a light device. The bass can be enhanced if you position the Braven 570 near a wooden wall or board or a box. The lower frequency vibrations from the Braven 570 is more audible and sounds much bigger like a larger bass speaker on those old speaker boxes. This was my first bluetooth portable speaker and I would consider it a very positive experience - so much that since it is still on sale, I will buy a few moreone in artic white and one in monaco blue. The only reason I would not give it the max 5 out of 5 is I don't have much other experience hearing except those others I've seen on display at other retailers. My only concern is that it might fall off the shelf or table if I crank up the volume to max. Just test it to see if the surface that it is resting on is sufficiently gripping. Some surfaces might not grip well enough and your awesome Braven 570 will fall and get dented :( I hope this helps.
