Excellent quality product with a great reputation. Fast print with crystal clear texts. Duplex function, large paper tray and a perfect size for my small office. My only issue is that the lights start to flicker when the printer starts. The printer has a good automatic deep sleep function so its not a big problem. Overall, extremely satisfied and NCIX has the best price for these in the market right now. |

Cons:After print, the fan inside the unit stay on for at least between 5-10 minutes and it ain't quiet. When opening the top lid to copy stuff, the spring that connect the lid to the unit is not very good quality. It will snap shut forcefully and quickly if you do not be careful when closing the lid.
Pros:Very sharp and good looking print. Duplex. Toner cartridge prices are reasonable. Comment:
Overall, I'd definetly recommend this print. Multifunction, duplex, very sharp text printing, it's great. And for the sale price, it's a steal I've had it over a year and it's never failed me. I've even considered buying a second one in case this one fails. The only cons are what I list above but they are minor annoyances which shouldn't stop you from buying this printer. It's Brother quality and now I know what that means. It's a steal at the sale price of about hundred dollars. Oh yeah, this printer will stop printing when it say's it low on toner. It just won't print. But there is an option in the settings that lets it keep on printing even though it's low on toner. Allow this setting and you'll get a few more hundred pages out of your toner. After that, you'll know when you need new toner when the prints aren't as nice as they should be. It's quite obvious when it needs to be replaced. Buy it! |

Cons:I couldn't find any. Yes it's a black and white only but that's the purpose of it. I guess you could say that it doesn't come with the usb cable but I didn't need it since I connected it to my wireless router and made it wireless.

I connected it to the wireless router with an Ethernet cable and I was able to use it with mac and windows devices in the house. |

Great for the small business owner. It does the basics well (printing, duplexing, scanning and copying) with good quality. The machine is small enough for a desk, but a bit heavy, especially once you load it up with paper. Printing is fast and comes out clean & sharp. Comes with a starter cartridge (1200 pages) but can take a high-yield cartridge as well. If you only print occasionally then the starter pack will probably last you for ages. Networked set-up was quick and easy. Takes a while to warm up & load when you switch it on, but not a big deal compared to the turnaround time of an inkjet! |

I can't really say much about Brother printers, I've always resorted to HP for my printing/copying/scanning needs, but I decided to follow the advice of a friend and make this purchase. I've pretty much done everything this printer has to offer. The print quality is amazing, ink consumption is *a lot* lower due to being a laser printer, network setup is seamless, OS integration is quick-and-easy on Windows, and a bit tedious on Mac.Definitely worthy of being called the AK-47 of printers. Looks ugly, its loud, it doesn't compliment a minimalist setup, but it does its job extraordinarily well without whining. |

This is a great product at a very reasonable price. Got it on sale for $113. You get a lot of features for the money, and the build quality seems solid. It was quick and simple to set up - I didn't even read the instructions. I took it out of the box, and plugged in the Ethernet and power cables, and turned it on. It automatically got an IP address on my network, and then was instantly discoverable by my Mac using Bonjour. I didn't even install the drivers which came on the disk, as the printer is supported natively under MacOS X. Drivers were automatically downloaded from Apple! Even the scanner functionality works without special drivers or software. It prints fast! The text quality is beautiful - gotta love laser output! I got this printer to replace a POS HP Multifunction colour inkjet which was eating through ink like you wouldn't believe, and was costing a fortune to print. Not to mention it would take FOREVER to begin printing. This printer is night-and-day in comparison, first page prints fast, and subsequent pages even faster. Also, the toner lasts 1500 pages, and costs |

Overall this is an excellent printer for my needs. Integrated it to my Server 2008 R2 Print Server and it took less than 5 minutes. Got it for 99$ on sale. Can't get any better at this price. Haven't tested scanning or copying though. |

Excellent multifunction laser printer from a reputable brand. The colour (black) on the prints is dark and crisp. Hope that switching over to a laser printer allows me to print more compared to an inkjet without replacing the ink/toner. The starter toner didn't last all that long and was replaced with a high yield toner. |

Great printer for home users. Get the Brother 7860 if you need fax or wireless.
