I am a software developer, bought the machine to test our software on the sheet fed scanner. Also bought it for the kids to print 11x17 homework projects on. Judging by the 'only' four inks, it will not be a great photo printer, but being able to have a large size printer will be nice. Great price. As with all ink jets, I have no idea how long this will last. Seems heavy enough though. Have not tried the ethernet port. Just plugged into the USB port on an OS X machine running 10.5. Have not tried the bundled Presto software - it looks like it may be not be that good, but you don't need it at all to do scanning or printing. This machine has a lot of features. Likely even I won't use them all. Only one paper tray - you would likely get this as a second printer, and just keep the big paper in it, and then have it as your fax machine/batch scanner. The bigger model has two paper trays I think.
