CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Cons:None.

Pros:PM'd for less than $50 +a $10 MIR (as much as I dislike MIRs, Corsair has always come through with mine). Very quiet PSU built by Seasonic. Efficient and quiet. This has replaced the Antec 380W as my go-to PSU for basic builds.
Comment:
Built by Seasonic, quiet, efficient, sleeved, black, cheap. It doesn't get any better than this. The ideal PSU for any basic build.

CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Cons:None to speak of.

Pros:Very reasonable price, especially with rebate.Nice build quality80+ certified
Comment:
This is my first Corsair PSU, although not my first Seasonic, who apparently makes them. I got it as a backup PSU and was looking for a reasonably-priced one that could fill in in a pinch for a couple of 500 watt units if needed. This one seemed to fit the bill and I grabbed one on sale for about $50. There was also a $15 rebate offered, and if it goes through I'll only have paid $35 for it. After having received it, I'd say that was a bargain.Although I didn't see it specified anywhere here, I was pleasantly surprised to find an 80+ certified logo on the box when I received it. I don't like reviews that rave on about the packaging, but I would like to commend Corsair for one thing I've never seen before: the box has pictures along one side of all the connectors, and how many there are of each. Wish everyone did that.Inside here's what you get (or at least I did), in addition to the PSU itself: A user manual, a power cord, a wide adjustable cable tie, 10 small cable ties, 4 black mounting screws and a case badge. Pretty complete for a lower-end unit. The unit itself is largely plain matte black, and all cables are meshed. I particularly like the molex connectors with the easy-pull design. They're practically a treat compared to the old molex plugs. I've actually had to use pliers to get the latter ones off on occasion. In operation it was very quiet, in fact I had to stop and listen to notice it at all. The cables were all sufficiently long, for use in an Antec 300, anyway. There's not much more I can say, After taking it for a test run, I put it away again and it will only be called out if needed, so I can't comment on any longer-term use. But, if you want a good, seemingly well-built PSU for somewhat modest system power requirements, I think you will be hard-pressed to find better value (taking into account sales and rebates).

Cons:- None

Pros:- Quiet!- Fairly inexpensive- Great internals- Good warranty
Comment:
These units are great. They are basically Seasonic 400w (80 plus models) on the inside, but have a great matte powder coating on the outside, in comparison to the boring gray Seasonics.Like all Corsair PSUs, they're quiet; you won't be able to hear this over your other fans for sure.

CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Cons:Two DOAs - one almost caused a fire.

Pros:Cheap, and when it worked, it was very quiet.
Comment:
I purchased one in Novemver as part of an HTPC build for a colleague, that unit was DOA. It was most likely an issue with the ATX 12V connector not providing any power at all. "No big deal", I thought. I have used numerous Corsair products before and understand sometimes DOAs happen.I bought a second 400CX locally to complete the build while the original unit was sent for RMA. This time everything worked fine, or so I thought. I completed the build and verified that the system would post. I began the install process for Windows 7 and was content to leave it going overnight. I returned 5 mins later to the smell of burning rubber and billows of smoke from the computer. One of the UNUSED molex connectors had burned right through it's shielding and sleeving. Needless to say, if I had actually left and not returned 5 mins later, there would have probably been a fire.Build specs, this is very light system:Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2HAMD PHII 955 no OCGSKILL 4GB DDR3Seagate 7200.12 500GBAntec Mini P180Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2I still believe that Corsair makes great PSUs, but after these issues, I cannot trust the 400CX.

Cons:mail in rebate?

Pros:Quiet, cool, good build quality, comes with zip ties and case badge, nice output for the price
Comment:
Another excellent psu by corsair. I have an HX520 which has been running flawlessly for 2 years. I bought this on sale for my secondary backup PC and it's perfect. I don't need high output so 400W is more than enough. It runs cool, silent, and has plenty of plugs. It comes with zip ties to organize your cables and a case badge.

Cons:3-year warranty compared to five for other Corsair PSUs

Pros:Very quiet, Corsair (Seasonic) quality
Comment:
Great, high-quality power supply for the price. The build quality and the components used inside the PSU aren't as nice as the VX 450W, but it is not at the same price point as the VX. The CX is excellent for those who want to spend as little as possible for a reliable, high-quality PSU.

Got this one one on sale for $30 after mir with free shipping. Awesome deal. This is the nicest PSU i got so far, with Seasonic 380W coming close but gotten at twice the price.I'm impressed with Corsair build quality, all cables are long and sleeved, plenty of connectors. First-time experience with Corsair and a great one. Recommended.

CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Cons:none for the price

Pros: Very good bang for your buck value, Only one 12V t30A rail means no worries on load balance, 2 very quiet big fans, lots of connectors means very good compatibility with older or newer systems, 80Plus certified means = high efficiency = lower power consumption. Build quality looks superb. Over current, voltage protection and 99% power factor correction not expected on a PS at this price.
Comment:
Even though you will end up with a nest of spare wires tucked into the CD expansion bays, I believe it is better to have expandability on hand than having a shortage of connections. great power supply for $35 After MIR. runs very quiet .

Compared to the more expensive ones that carry 5 years, this entry level only carries 3 years...and only half the PSU uses Japanese caps while the other half uses Taiwan caps...but that's what you will get for an entry level.I'm running on this and there is at least 200+ W of headroom:CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0ghzRAM: 2x2gb G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ DDR3-1066Mobo: Gigabyte MA770T-UD3PVideo Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3650 512mb DDR2HDD: 250gb + 500gb Western Digital / 1TB Hitachi 7K1000.B

CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
Cons:- Somewhat quiet power supply (slightly quieter than my Antec EarthWatts 380W); not ideal for a silent build

Pros:+ Lots of cables+ All meshed cables+ Great, serious look and finish
Comment:
This power supply fit very well in a Compucase 6K28BS. Hiding the cables was difficult, seeing as there were many, but it was manageable if a free 5 1/4 inch drive bay was available. It was paired with a budget build, a Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 and an AMD 5200+. It powered fine and was fairly quiet, though not silent. Its noise output is slightly lower than the Antec EarthWatts 380W. Black meshed cables and finish look awesome. A very good buy for a low-end to mid-end build, given the low price and good quality control of Corsair.
