Unexpectedly Fragile
Comment:
I agree that this cable is unexpectedly fragile. However, we bought it for looks, not durability. Should the cable ever need to be removed from the case, I'll try to remember to use pliers to grip the connectors with so I don't damage the it. |

Disapointing
Comment:
I was expecting the connectors to be potted. The moulded plastic just slips over the cable and connector. This was an important clut that the assembly is fragile. MUCH CARE IS NEEDED WHEN HANDLING THIS PRODUCT |

Cables To Go 36-inch Round Ultra ATA-133 EIDE Blue UV Cable
Comment:
This cable was a complete joke. It made me question ever buying anything from tiger direct again. The lack of quality and total incompetence of design and functionality is a disgrace to tiger direct just for offering this product. I will never buy anything made by Cables to Go. I installed the cable onto my mother board and two hard drives, but when I needed to remove the cable from one of the hard drives, the pull tab on the connector came off in my hands and the pin connector split apart. I then removed the other hard drive and the cable ripped out from the connector and remained stuck in the hard drive. The pull tab ripped off from the motherboard but I was able to get the connector off in one piece otherwise. I had successfully removed and reinstalled the OEM cable several times, while I was arranging components to check for space, without any problem. This cable is defective and it has a higher probability of ruining your harddrive than actually working. |
I just looked at these reviews after screwing around with this cable for a couple of days. If I would have read them sooner, I would have been WAY more careful than I have been. I've been pulling them out of the hard drives by yanking on the wires over and over again. No problems at all. One thing I which I knew before buying was that it is a cable select cable, so you cannot plug your drives in however you want....
