These are really useful for adding AN extra drive to an old system or for reach when used with a proper power supply.a person can make a super backup server with some cheap drives, some sort of non-raid OS, some cooled $23 Cooler Master STB-3T4-E3 3X5.25IN to 4X3.5IN Drive Bay Convertor Silver Black w/ 120mm Fan, an old tower case and a donated P4. DO NOT use the old power supply. A really good single rail supply is then needed and those are cheap now, too.Used properly, these are great! |

If you need to get more SATA power cables and you got the 4 pin power cables, this is the adapter to get. With PM price, its about the same price as the 1:1 cable. So unless you only need a single SATA and want your case with the least amount of cables possible, then there is no reason not to get this adapter as opposed to the 1:1 adapter. |

I decided to purchase this item as I was running short of SATA power connectors but had plenty of Molex connectors. The item does what its supposed to ... that is provided power to SATA devices. No issues so far. It was quite inexpensive after price matching. Look forward to purchasing more as needs arise. |

Works exactly as expected, I ran out of sata power cables coming directly from the power supply, but had tons of 6pins left, was able to add another 2 hard drives thanks to this device.
