Too hard to use!
Comment:
I've been trying to transfer files and settings directly, manually but this transfer cable is too complicated. I guess I expected a PnP device.

Worthless
Comment:
can not get cable to transfer from Win XP. Okay on Win Vista. CD of no value - have to go on line to MS and download file which also does not work. Save your money- use a flash drive.

Product didn't work
Comment:
Software would not load completely, the cable was loose at connector. Tried on two different OS (XP and 2003 server) could not use it. I Will return it.

Missing drivers
Comment:
Product is advertised as compatible with Windows 2000 and up, however this requires a trouble ticket to Cables to Go. Connected to XP out of the box but required help with 2000. Once connected the device worked great.

Wasted the cost of purchase
Comment:
Your company's advert for this product made it appear that it was necessary for the installation of the new Microsoft 7...however, it wasn't necessary. Nor, required. Thus, it was a waste of time and cost of having purchased this item....it's still in the box.

Data transfer cable
Comment:
Cannot give an accurate review right now as the new computer is in the factory repair shop due to a memory problem so hope I will be able to add to this when it gets back to me.

Piece of Junk!
Comment:
It's no value if the item doesn't work. The software wasn't on the CD. I had to download it from Microsoft's website after checking Cables To Go website. Once I got the software up any running I realized that one-half of the cable didn't work. Needless to say, that was a wasted $20 investment. I ended up transferring my data fills by means of a jumpdrive. Don't waste YOUR money on this crap.

Not all that..

We tried to set up my Son's new computer using this cable, but we had no luck. It didn't have very clear instructions. We thought it would be quick and painless, and proved to be the opposite. We gave up.

Needs better instructions
Comment:
Needs better instructions. They should tell you to download the program from Microsoft first or supply it on the CD.

it just did not work as promised;followed all instructions, no luck. worse yet - the tech people from ctg were of no help; advised me to download the driver (supposedly on the cd) from ms.

Decent product
Comment:
Bought this with my netbook for an alternate file transfer means thinking it would be better and faster than using my flashdrive. It did not work ''right out of the box''. Tech support had to be consulted, and additional software, which wasn't on the included CD, was needed to make the cable work. Transferring small files was no problem at this point, but when transferring large files, I received error messages and had to re-transfer a couple of times before it went through completely. Transferring large files was pretty much the reason I purchased the cable in the first place, so when you consider that, I'd say that this product let me down. All in all it did work, but no without some grief.

I made a mistake or this just doesn't work
Comment:
Not sure if what I'm trying to accomplish is the problem or if the cables or software is not working as suggested they should do. WinXP laptop - Win7 Desktop - did as instructed on the CD and did not obtain a connection between the two systems. We all learn by our mistakes! Another lesson learned.
