The disk that comes with it doesn't work no matter what the instructions say about having the correct XP service pack. No drivers found online to download. Complete waste of time and money.

I purchased this transfer cable and software on the strong advice of a chat tech here. Some of the worst advice I've ever been given. If you're going to use this system, be very, VERY careful what's transferred, especially if your new computer has programs already installed. The data conflicts between old OS and new OS files have been beyond nightmarish. I've been trapped in rollback and re-install hell for days. Worse, I have about eleven thousand duplicate system files and despite uninstalls,reinstalls and reg repairs, many programs still won't work. Rollbacks won't fix this and there's no undo. So I'm now deleting eleven thousand duplicate system files BY HAND. I could seriously strangle your tech with my bare hands for the advice he gave.

the cable will not work with the software supplied - it works relatively well with the drivers provided by Microsoft. The Microsoft drivers were suggested by Cable One tech, so I would guess that they knew of this problem for some time.

Purchased to help friend transfer some data from XP laptop to Vista laptop. Vista recognized device, XP didn't - met in town, so little time to troubleshoot before running out of power on laptop.

The CD pkg'd with cable is of no use. Tried calling support twice and still not working. Drivers supplied not usuable. Afraid I wasted my money.

I have used top systems for several years. Even with SP3 the software will not load and computer will not recognize cable. OK with Vista notebook - but can't transfer data from desktop which was purpose of purchase. Back to DVD's.

We brought this item to facilitate transferring our old XP computer to our new Vista computer. Very easy to set up, but be careful. It will literally take your C drive from one computer to the other and same with any other hard drive. This caused a problem for us because our old computer had a small C drive and large D drive, while the new computer was the opposite. If you have a similar situation, familiarize yourself with how to repartition hard drives (not too difficult, there are how-tos on the internet) and repartition the new computer to allow for each hard drive transfer to complete itself. Once we figured that out, the whole transfer (120 gigs or so) took only about 30 minutes. Music, pictures, programs, it all went. Very nice product.

This product saves hours upon hours of time transferring file settings, Email Addresses, Docs and Settings, pictures & etc. from Windows XP to Windows Vista. Just plug and go, no muss, no fuss. It transferred all in about 5 hours. A lot of file data that was transferred, unfortunately I could not use on the new system - Windows Vista 64 bit. There are many of programs running on XP which cannot be loaded into the new system, ie: Win Vista 64 bit so that ellimates Corel WordPerfect Office Professional, AutoCAD and many more. All file settings were loaded in to the new computer, but many unusable. Photos, Music, Docs & Settings loaded with no problem at all and transferred intact. This Product is highly recommended.

Looking for the Tornado Hardware Transfer device; bought this instead ..Drivers (Software) included will not work with an older XP Windows OS; it does work with XP SP2 Version, but not my XP SP1 Home Edition.

It took 2 or 3 attempt's to make this work. Poor instructions. You need a monitor on each unit to make this work. Instuctions don't tell you this. It did transfer everything without flaw's. I would rate it 4 out of 5.

Did it quickly and easy from xp to vista not one problem. Felt so good about it i transfered a vista home premium to home premium, was even faster and easier. got lucky and caught it on sale last mo. think i only gave 10 bucks for it . But it would still be worth the 30 they want now, easily. had all 3 pcs tranfered in a total of 10mn.As usual delivery from tiger direct was 2 days and product worked as advertised.Pc repair wanted 50 bucks to do the job..so you can see you will be ahead plenty if you do the job yourself and get to keep the tool..Thnx tiger great product, great price, fast delivery...J.R.H. worked perfectlly transfering from xp to vista. Quick about 5 minutes to transfer. Easy to do,my computer lacking wife did it before i got home. very happy with shipping, took 3 days from order placement to delivery.
