I had read review saying it might not work, but for the price I had to try. I was trying to use it to split a VGA signal between the regular monitor and an LCD TV that had a 15' extension cable attached to it. There was enough power to run one or the other, but not both. Ended up with a dual head video card.

We use this to split the signal between a monitor and an LCD projector. The projected image is OK (because people are typiclly farther away, and loss of detail is not really noticeable), but the computer monitor quality is greatly reduced - you get a sort of shadow-effect on all on-screen objects (buttons, text boxes, etc.) and text, because of the signal degradation, I guess. So it's ok if you're using it infrequently, but not if you need to spend hours on the monitor, and then briefly on the projector.

Really is a terrible piece. It may split the signal .. but is certainly also cuts the strength

This is a great product and a great value. Its very nice being able to use my HDTV as a monitor. Great for gaming and all around veiwing.

I'm using this to split a laptop monitor out to two projection systems, and it works like a charm.

As the previous reviewer stated, some ghosting appears on my monitor when hooked up to the splitter. When using the other hookup to my HDTV to play streaming video, the picture is dark and kind of blurry. Waste of money. Next time I'll spring for the higher quality splitter.

This is an ''economy'' cable and the shielding is not of the highest quality. It works okay for several applications, but at higher resolutions some ghosting appears in the images. For the price you are better to get a more shielded cable like C250-3572. For the best picture quality and resistance to interference spring for an active splitter like the Port Authority 2 (or 4,8) C184-29550.
