We needed to use an infrared mouse controller for our song leader at church. We had too much RF interference for any thing else to work at 120' I ran a cat5 run, hooked it up and it has been working without fault for almost 3 years. It is so simple to hook up, literally, if you can plug something into your USB port, you can hook this up. It feeds USB power to the IR receiver with no problem. I will use more of these gadgets anytime I need a long USB run
