Canon PowerShot A495 Blue 10.0 MP Digital Camera
Cons:
It's blue. Cameras should be grey or black! But whatever I'm not a pro and I don't care. The blue actually looks very nice.
Pros: Small (I know most digital cameras are at least this small).Nice screen. 2 AA batteries (easy and cheap). Energy efficient. I'm very happy with the image quality, different shooting modes and shooting settings, the feel of it, and the price seems amazing. I'm also very impressed with the video, which has image quality and smoothness that surpassed what I was expecting from Canon's entry level digital camera. With some tripod mounts you'll be able to change the batteries, but only if it's a small mounting pad. Mine is a little too big so it blocks being able to change batteries. Thankfully even a pair of cheap alkaline batteries lasted for 45 minutes of continuous video shooting. The screen seems pretty big, bright, and smooth to me. Comment:
I have not really used it that much, and I don't know what else to compare it to other than my 10 year old digital camera. My old camera was good, but I'm amazed at how much better digis have gotten whilst the price has gone down so far. |

Canon PowerShot A495 Blue 10.0 MP Digital Camera
Cons:
I'm thinking that the little rubber cover over the USB connection might not last too well. We'll see. For my way of doing things now, I'd probably pull the card which is in the battery compartment, and upload that way.
Pros: Super price on sale ( Comment:
I lost my older Kodak digital, because it was larger and I guess it slipped from where I'd secured its case to a pack. So I love the fact that newer digital point and shoot cameras are smaller. This one takes my old SD cards and the newer faster variety.I like the fact that it uses AA rechargeables so I can carry a bunch and a charger when traveling.I can't find anything to dislike. In order to be a good "carry around" camera, the camera needs to TRY to meet many goals such as lightness and size, cheap, etc. It has a year's warranty and if it lasts just that long for me, I'm happy.Old (fashioned) people like me can take back lots of control even with this little point and shoot. |
These point and shoot cameras are quite handy. I have used this one for a short amount of time and most of the pictures where quite good. My brother has it now so now I have a pentax which is slightly better in my opinion.
