Does what it say ti will
Comment:
I haven't got to play with this much yet, but what I have done has worked well and simply. There have been some comments about needing an external power cord, not a problem for me. I hooked this up to my PC with a 6 pin Firewire cable and it fired right up. Looks like I get lots of use out of this.

Canopus ADVC-110 works great.
Comment:
I tried a cheaper converter and got what I paid for...dropped frames and poor video. Canopus ADVC-110 makes great looking video even on my older computer.

Good For Web Streaming
Comment:
We needed to utilize a composite, or analog, video signal for a web stream via a popular web exhibition site. With just a few minutes of work, we were able to use this box to convert the video and get it into the laptop via firewire. The web exhibition site recognized it as a source automatically and we were streaming within minutes. Surprised it was really this easy! A note for anyone using this setup for a web meeting, we did have some issues with audio, and ended up having to bring the signal through the Line In of the laptop for the audio to be recognized. For streaming via media encoder, though, audio passed through this box just fine.

Great product for the price
Comment:
Really can't beat this product for the price! It's a great tool for importing legacy video into your video projects. Made by very well respected company in the pro-video industry, works great, doesn't hang up and transfers without loss.

Canopus ADVC-110 Advanced Digital Video Converter
Comment:
When I realized Canopus and Grass Valley were one-and-the-same, I knew I had chosen a good product (I have used Grass Valley equipment in TV studios.). Pure hardware (on-chip) conversion; works with any of my video editing software. And powered-by-Firewire is neat! Once again, Tiger had the right equipment for the right price!

Comment:
Great little product. No worries about installing drivers, just plug and record. I use Adobe Premiere to convert my home VHS videos to DVD and it works well. Only complaint would be trying to track down a 5V power supply, but I wouldn't mind trying the 5V PSP adapter from Wal-mart as suggested. Over all, its a great product.

Canopus ADVC-110 Advanced Digital Video Converter
Comment:
Great value. Works very smoothly. For some reason however, I did need a power adapter even though I use the 6-pin FireWire cable. The 5V PSP adapter from Wal-Mart works just fine. No editing software included however, Windows Movie Maker works fine with it.

Comment:
I teach TV production in a high school and have 4 ADVC-110's. They are extremely reliable and easy to use. I have yet to have on fail to convert 8mm Hi8 digital8 or analogue VHS. It is not designed to remove macrovision. We edit on a MAC platform.
