Cavalry CAXM3701T0 1TB USB 2.0 eSATA External 3.5IN External Hard Drive
Cons:
Not really a 'weakness' but the power adapter is wide and the prongs are centred so that it covers the power outlets on either side. I prefer units that have a regular width plug at outlet end and the 'brick' somewhere along the cable (1.5m long).
Pros: "Extras" included -- USB 2.0 cable, e-SATA cable, SATA to eSATA bracket and cable. Probably cost $20-$30 extras if not included. Quiet (Silent). Cool running. |

Cavalry CAXM3701T0 1TB USB 2.0 eSATA External 3.5IN External Hard Drive
Cons:
Not compatible with Shaw PVR
Pros: The price is right Comment:
Doesn't work with my Shaw Pace Cable box. It seems ok initially, but every morning since I've installed it my Pace box is DOA and I have to reboot it to get it to work.It does come with both an eSata and USB cable which is nice. |

Cavalry CAXM3701T0 1TB USB 2.0 eSATA External 3.5IN External Hard Drive
Cons:
none noticed YET.
Pros: Too early Multiple hook ups, Pretty Robust CASE Comment:
Just bought hoping would work in Pace Shaw Digital box for PVR. It WORKS, Great inexpensive alternative to the $150-$199 Shaw HDD. Have not had a chance to FULLY test yet but those wondering if it works it seems to hook up fine and be detected and I have been able to record, rewind. Get it at the price while you can. |
The Hard Drive is an Hitachi HDT721010SLA360, aka Deskstar 7K1000.B (3 platter design) -- 7200rpm, 16M Cache. It seems to run cool (to touch) but I've not really worked it hard yet. Time will tell if it runs hot or not.Hitachi info: http://www.hitachigst.com/deskstar-7k1000bReview at Toms' Hardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/hitachi-western-digital-terabyte,2017-2.html
