Cherry G80-3800 Red Switch MX-BOARD 2.0 104 Key Mechanical Keyboard Black
Cons:No PS/2 capability
Pros:Cheap, Mechanical, High Build Quality Comment:
I saw this on sale for 59.99 and jumped on it. Always wanted to try red switches and cherry has a reputation for making quality products. The actual keyboard just came in today and I've been using it for most of the afternoon. I am actually using it to type this review. So far I have to say that considering the price I paid it is a very high quality keyboard. Typing is comfortable despite what you may think by looking at the odd key shapes. I find the shape of the keys actually improves the feel overall. One review I read commented that the keyboard felt light and that it could be prone to sliding around. I have to say that although it is much lighter than other mech keyboards, I have not had a problem with it sliding around on me. It's clear that they cut some corners with this keyboard, but it is built into a solid ABS frame. But then again, for the price I can't really complain. As far as the red switches though, I would say that I still prefer Blues for typing but I could get used to reds for gaming. They are quieter and extremely light and smooth to press down.Overall, I would recommend these keyboards to anyone who is new to mechanical keyboards or anyone who just wants to try a different switch type like I did. This is an especially good deal if you can get them for 59.99 + free shipping from the NCIX sale. |
very good keyboard, reds are my favourite switch, linear action and feel extremely light, bottle-out sound feels very satisfying, can't stop typing just for the sound lol
