very nice to type on. comes with blue switches. after about 6 months my cable started to only work if held at a very specific angle, luckily, the cable is removable.

This is way better than Razer's offering.The thing I like most of all is that the cable can be routed to the sides, instead of ONLY the back, which is inexcusable on mechanical keyboards.I doubt there is a better mechanical keyboard for the price.I guess my only complaint would by why I didn't buy this in the first place.

This is a very small mechanical keyboard that is great for taking to LANs or if you have a really small desk. This is one of the best mechanical keyboard that I have purchased, Highly recommended.

Nice to finally pick up a decent keyboard. Previously all my other keyboards would never last more than a year. Usually the cords were way too short, this one has a substantial reach for its cord.It is noisy, but that's a benefit more than a negative for most people.Looking at the overall quality I can see this lasting for much longer than one year, guess time will tell.Very happy with this product. Price seemed reasonable too.

MIR was horrible it took 100+ days to come and came in an US cheque which when i put in was 2 cents after all the processing fee...... So technically my MRI was pointless. Will never do MIR of cooler master againI just lost 10$ of my money....... and i payed for the mail fee so i lost money.......

I spent a longtime wondering which mechanical keyswitch was for me and I finally decided on blues. Browns are nice, but they're hard to find in this price range. The quickfire has the simple design like a 6gv2, does not have the fingerprint magnet plastic of the blackwidow and not the cost as much as a DAS or Filco. Having to hold down the function key to use the media keys to me seems like poor design when a cheap dynex keyboard has 1 button access. Overall its cheap, sturdy and hopefully they release the ninja keyed one quickly.

Got this on sale a long time ago, it's a great keyboard for anyone interested in mechanical keyboards but don't want to pay the price of the other brands. Keep in mind MX Blue switches are the loudest with their clicky sound and people around you WILL NOTICE the noise level. This model is made by Costar, highly regarded OEM of keyboards. They also make keyboards for Filco and many other brands. Too bad NCIX does not carry the other versions of this keyboard. Personally I'd prefer the MX Red or MX Brown versions.I'd highly recommend this keyboard due to it's price and quality.

This really makes typing fun again. The key response is much more satisfying than the average mushy rubber membrane keyboards (think Logitech MX5500 - what a horrible over-rated keyboard).Like many others, I don't think I can go back to rubber type keyboards again.The only real feature this keyboard is missing is the dedicated tenkey but that is also why I bought it for use in my kitchen where space is at a premium. I do my spreadsheets in my office where I do have a standard 104 key keyboard.On the other hand, this keyboard is about 1/2 the price of similar quality boards.As usual, I Google and read reviews and tests before pulling the trigger. I read about half a dozen and everyone raved about this keyboard. I agree and think it is great value and quality. I really like the Cherry MX blues and don't find them all that noisy. In fact, I like the clicking noises - go figure......

This is a great tenkeyless keyboard. It feels great and is perfect for those with a smaller desk. The price is pretty decent too. A wonderful entry keyboard for those wanting to test out a mechanical keyboard.It doesn't have all the extra features like USB hub and wrist rests and 20 extra buttons as other options, but I find those to silly anyway. I just want a basic keyboard that feels great. If you're looking for that, this is the perfect choice.

I bought this keyboard to replace a relatively cheap compact keyboard purchased somewhere else. I prefer compact keyboards (no numpad) because I find that the extra width is very uncomfortable from a positioning perspective after long hours typing. The previous keyboard I had wasn't bad but was clearly inferior. I didn't know much about mechanical keyboards until I read up on this model and ordered one.I am very pleased with it as it performs very well and it's extremely easy to type quickly and efficiently on it. I also hadn't realized just how much I had missed my old school IBM workhorse keyboard that I had learned to type on as a kid. This keyboard is a real pleasure to use. It uses the Cherry blue switches so it is extremely clicky but they were right; I actually do find the click response feel and noise reassuring, for lack of a better word. I feel like I have a much better flow and cadence when typing. I have yet to try it out on a FPS but am confident it will work fine. I did notice that with my cheap keyboard I had real issues holding down the shift key to run and stuff like that. I'm sure this will be an improvement.My only gripe is that I haven't been able to use the PS/2 mode of the keyboard as it wasn't not recognized properly. But that's fine, I am happy to use USB instead. I think I lose out on the N-key roll over but I am not sure if that's an issue that will ever really bug me?

Great keyboard, the lack of the numpad makes its very ideal for gaming and smaller desk areas. However my gf has complained often about how loud the keys are. Otherwise a perfect mechanical key board with out the unnecessary bells and whistles.

This is my first mechanical keyboard so I can't compare to the others mechanical keyboards, however I'm very pleased with this keyboard. From a practical stand point it has almost everything you will ever need except for the numpad which can be an inconvenience at times. However it not a big deal, it's definitely worth it's price. Some folks love the key illumination which this one lacks, however it's not a major thing. Great keyboard.

I came to the Rapid Compact from my last mechanical, which was a SteelSeries 6GV2 - it was returned due to faulty wiring.The rubberized dark grey frame on this board contrasts nicely with the jet black keys, and there's never any creaking or squeaking of the keys while typing. The caps all fit well, and removing them with the included puller is nice and easy.The Cherry Blues are a blast to type on, and make a satisfying click with each stroke. They work great for gaming as well as typing.The overall dimensions of the keyboard are perfect for those with limited space on their desks, and occasionally whacking into it with my mouse has yet to result in it trying to slide away. A detachable, braided USB cord is also a pretty nice touch, too.

I would have copied and pasted my review on this keyboard from Geekhack, but ever since the site fell and came back, I can't log in nor can I find the reviews section. So, instead writing another essay, I'm going to keep it short and simple.Being a previous owner of a Gateway rubber dome that lasted a good 4 years (still alive), I wanted to try something new. Initially I was sucked in by the gaming keyboard hype by products such as the Logitech G510. And then, I found Geekhack. I began the journey of finding the keyboard that was right for me. In short, if you wish to save some time, read up on the type of Cherry MX switches you want, and then go try the keyboards in store. Me being a little OCD wanted a keyboard that was flawless and affordable. I eventually settled on choosing the QFR over Leopold s and Filcos because of their limited availability (NCIX didn't carry Filcos at this time) and price. I managed to PM the QFR to $65, which was relatively cheap compared to the other mechs out there.After bringing it home, I immediately unboxed it took it out for a test run. Initially, I felt slightly underwhelmed. I thought to myself "Wow, this feels nice, but I want more for my money." Eventually after a week of usage, I do not regret my purchase. And you've probably heard this before, but once you go mech, you never come back. Personally, I pretty much only use this keyboard to do work and play DOTA2. My WPM actually went up by roughly 5 and my DOTA2 play hasn't seen a huge improvement from my keyboard (well it's a damn keyboard). However, I can say that the form factor makes it much more comfortable for me to use and the option for me to disable the Windows key is invaluable.The QFR is also built like a tank. Once you take it out of the box, you'll definitely be surprised at how heavy it is for a smaller form factor keyboard. CM also has this matte light rubber finish which is quite nice. To conclude, if you're looking for a Cherry MX Blue mech keyboard that has an awesome form factor, you should check out the QFR. Recently, Razer released the Blackwidow tournament edition, but I'm sure if the Razer is built as well as the QFR. I should also mention that the QFR has the same OEM as Filcos. They're simply painted differently and have different keycaps.

initial impressions of this keyboard are great, love the size and how compact this is. it'll be great for LAN party's but i can see myself missing the numpad eventually. if you're a hard typer then i'd recommend going for a keyboard which has laser etched keys instead. the keyboard comes with alternate keycaps for the WASD keys and the "windows" keys, i would have much preferred the windows keys have the windows logo but you'll still know what's what. same same but different. having tried the DAS and the razer black widows this keyboard sounds quieter but the keys do offer a tad more resistance than the DAS and black widows. as mentioned above the cord that comes with the keyboard is braided but is more rigid than any other braided cord i've seen before and much more rigid than any other mini-usb cable i've ever used. the great thing is that you can use whatever mini-usb cable you want braided or not. thanks coolermaster for giving us the freedom of choice here. overall highly recommend if you can get over the few very small flaws

Cannot believe I didn't get this before. Wow. I'm sure other mechanical keyboards are great, but they don't come as inexpensive as this one. If you can live without a number pad, backlights, weird LCD displays and other needlessly fancy stuff, this is the keyboard for you. Very impressed, wouldn't ever go back to membrane keyboards and would buy one to bring to work if I had a closed office space to cut the noise out.

Got this while it was on sale. Very good price and very well built. I needed a more compact keyboard since my desk and tray are quite small so this fit the bill perfectly. I love the response of the Cherry MX Blue switches.I'm typing on this now as we speak.

this is my first keyboard, since i have limit space for my desktop, i have to buy a compact keyboard. this one just meets my requirement. it does great for its job. good design, nice feeling. would suggest buying it if you want to buy a compact mechanical keyboard.

The reason I bought this keyboard was because my Black Widow was far too big and bulky, the macro keys were in the way and the glossy surface constantly got covered in grease and finger prints.With my new Quickfire these are no longer an issue. It's small, compact and built like a rock. Actually, this keyboard is manufactured by the same OEM that makes Filco keyboards. This means that on top of great build quality, you can order replacement keycap sets from places like WSAD keyboards.As for the other features, here are a few highlights I enjoy most about it:- Detachable USB cableThis means if your cable ever breaks, or you need a longer one. All you gotta do is buy or use a standard mini usb cable that plugs in the back.- Tenkeyless Being a tenkeyless design keyboard, it does not have a num pad. Some reviews point this out as a con, but really you should be able this to tell from the pics before you buy it. Personally I prefer no num pad as it is more ergonomic. I just ordered a stand along laptop num pad for 7$.- Simple and CompactThis keyboard is unique in that unlike the Black Widow and other similar keyboards designed simply to cater to the growing mechanical keyboard fad, the Quickfire is just a simple keyboard designed after the Filco's and Duckey's that started it all.Overall I would say if your looking for a cheap mechanical keyboard, this is a great one to start with. Don't let the price fool you, you get get all your moneys worth with this keyboard.
