Corsair AX860 860W ATX 12V V2.31 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120mm Fan
Cons:None
Pros:Fully Modular80+ Platinum Certified Comment:
The braided cables are a nice touch. This PSU is very efficient (80+ Platinum rating). A fully modular PSU is useful for cases with less room, it also creates less clutter and makes a computer build look better. This PSU has performed without a hitch for a year, and comes highly recommended. |

Corsair AX860 860W ATX 12V V2.31 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120mm Fan
Cons:-cables could be longer if you were using a big case
Pros:-size (great for mATX)-quiet-packaging Comment:
This is a pretty nice power supply.I bought it because it seemed to be the highest quality power supply that was in stock, and would fit comfortably in a Prodigy M case. After installing this power supply, I think I could have actually gone a bit larger - but I may have had to remove the optical drive bay.I have not had any real issues with this PSU, the cables were plenty long for this case (but might be too short for a full-sized case), and the packaging was pretty nice. Not quite up there with some 1200w PSU's I have used, but still good. The only weird issue I had was that the Prodigy M's power pass-through cable would not fit in the power socket on this PSU, so I had to shave it down a bit with an exacto knife. Not totally sure if that's the Prodigy's fault, or this PSU's, but either way it's working now.Would buy again. |

Corsair AX860 860W ATX 12V V2.31 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120mm Fan
Cons:COIL WHINE
Pros:Great quality build, fully modular, nice black sleeved cables, only 160mm in length, platinum rating. Comment:
The coil whine in this psu is horrible. For the past 3 days the sound has been slowly frying my brain and it's turned to mush and now dripping out my ears as I type this. It is not just my unit either, after a quick google search I've found this is a widespread problem with the AX860. Do not buy this power supply unless you enjoy being tortured by a high frequency sound similar to what the KGB used to torture their captives. 2 star rating (ncix will not let me rate less than 3) This review was modfied by poster @ 04-21-13 11:10 PM |

Corsair AX860 860W ATX 12V V2.31 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120mm Fan
Cons:Had to RMA the first unit due to excessive coil whine
Pros:-80+ Platinum-Fully Modular-Plenty of connectors & of good length-Hybrid fan mode Comment:
Aside from having to RMA the first unit, which NCIX handled quickly, this product works marvelously well. The hybrid fan mode effectively makes the PSU silent; even the normal fan mode is fairly quiet. |

Corsair AX860 860W ATX 12V V2.31 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120mm Fan
Cons:none
Pros:lots of power and connectors Comment:
Outstanding PSU. Cable length is never going to be a problem. I put this in a ATX case and managed to run cables all the way to the opposite corner without needing to run the cables over the mobo. |
It does the job as it should!
