Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 64GB Drive
Cons:-Poor write speed
Pros:-Decent size-Good read performance Comment:
The drive is a fair deal for the sale price but the USB 3 performance isn't as good as expected overall. I have a couple other USB 3 drives and this is the slowest of the bunch. The read speeds I got with large files were decent at over 100MB/s but the write speeds are slow at under 19MB/s which isn't much better than a USB 2 drive. The sliding mechanism is handy in that you don't have to deal with a cap but at the same time it doesn't protect as well considering the end of the connector is still exposed to the elements and can collect dust, etc.Overall it's not a bad drive if you can can get a good price on it but it doesn't deliver USB 3 write speeds. If that is important to you then look for something else. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-03-14 06:36 PM |

Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 64GB Drive
Cons:A bit large
Pros:CapacityUSB 3.0 speedDecent price when on sale Comment:
Decent price when on sale. Good speeds (USB3.0) and capacity fits for my intended use. It is a bit larger than I expected but it does not take away from the product. |

Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 64GB Drive
Cons:-Dissapointing write speed-Quirky construction
Pros:-Lots of room-Price (on special)-Read speed-5 years warranty Comment:
Pros: it work well, and read speed is very potent on this drive (about 60-70 MB/s). 30$ price and 5 years warranty from a reputable manufacturer.Cons: write speed!!!!! Around 13MB/s on USB3! To me this is a big con because when you have that much room for data you don't want to wait forever for the files to copy... I've had FASTER USB 2 drives (such as the old Sandisk Ducati edition that pushed a steady 20MB/s write speed). Also build constructions is a bit poor, it's all plastic and the slider mechanism doesn't lock in place so you have to hold the drive correcly when you insert it otherwise it will retract while trying to plug it.Conclusion: if you buy this wait until it goes on special for 30$ or less otherwise I think that this is NOT a 50$ drive, even for a roomy 64GB. |
A nice USB 3.0 flash drive to grab when on sale. Write speeds could be better for USB 3.0, but read speeds are good. At the end of the day it still gets the job done.
