Comment:
Quickly if it worked.... Read cautiously and do not acquire: This drive has a BSOD bug when it goes into a low power state, there are NO temporary fixes. The issue is exacerbated when the computer uses TRIM or goes to sleep, but you will nonetheless get BSODs. There is a forum thread with more than 300 replies on the Corsair forum about this problem, it is effectively recognized! Waiting for a firmware release, the ONLY opportunity of ever employing this drive once again. As of proper now, it's absolutely nothing but a paperweight!

Overall the drive is really snappy, a total difference from rotational disks, on the other hand, Corsair's support is non-existent. I get a BSOD when returning from standby, or on cold boot. I have to go to repair, command prompt, chkdsk, and then restart to get back in. Before I figures that out, I had to continually roll back to restore point. My firmware is most recent two.. Literally thousands of other folks have this issue, but they have no solution. If you try to contact support they quickly start out an RMA procedure, which I presently can't afford to shed, as it's my main laptop drive. The drive functions fine other than the BSOD boot and standby troubles. Genuinely seriously annoying. Devote a little bit more and get an OCZ drive, I don't hear any of these concerns in their forums. In retrospect I was penny-wise and pound foolish. I'm sure some Corsair rep will reply to this and say, please contact support, blah blah, just to save face, but there is no support, they know their drives have issues, or their firmware has concerns, but they continue to remain silent. This will be my last obtain with Corsair, just a terrible encounter. Keep away from at all expenses.

The Corsair Force CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD), makes such a huge difference in performance working with motorized storage is not an solution. For system files of course, the price comparison is essential, but in the next couple of years its not even going to be worth the time arguing with yourself, which can occur often, with trivial matters such as these. wish the three.five bracket was cooler.

Functions great in my MacBook Pro ྯ-inch, Mid 2010). I saw significant performance increases in boot time and application launch times. As compared to the 7200 RPM factory installed drive, my MacBook Pro ran cooler and is Considerably quieter now with no vibrations. None that I can believe of; see other thoughts. Just a reminder that Mac OS X Snow Leopard does not support TRIM which means that you could see efficiency degradation more than time even with drives that support TRIM. Despite the fact that therefore far I haven't noticed something.

Offers reduced boot time and instantaneous launch of all applications. Entirely silent and seems to put out no heat. A small pricey for 120GB. I installed this in a 2009 Macbook Pro and it's a screamer. It loads all applications in a fraction of the time it employed to take.

My 4th Corsair F-series. Excellent OS drive. Utilizing 40 out of 115GB. SATA cable connectors are bigger than an SSD so stacking two in a drive bay is tight fit (not actually an concern). Paragon's "Clone to SSD" had me up and operating in ten minutes. Strategy to move to RocketRAID 620 - I have two RAIDs already on four of 6 Intel ports.

I wasted time installing my OS and apps on there along with some documents I wrote (that are now gone).SSD technologies sucks I'm going back to mechanical drives. Manufacturer Response:Based on market feedback, the failure rate for SSDs is comparable to that of HDDs. Installed W7 without a difficulty.Quicker than my SATA 7200 RPM ࿠ MB/s)Very smallerPc been on 24ǝ and the drive is still cold!Very quickly shipping, ordered it with UPS subsequent day and got it at 11 AM. The brackets that come to convert 2.five - three.five will not be usable in some circumstances. I use the XCLIO SILVER and it doesn't fit appropriately simply because it's missing a hole.Price - but I will get some money back from the โ rebate! I do not get the speed they say, I get around 150-170 MB/s (if I keep in mind properly)Installed: W7 x64 Ultimate, Steam, Firefox, Starcraft 2, AIM, Ventriloall on the SSDMethod boots up instantly NO LAG! everything on desktop just pops up. Shuts down in much less than 3 seconds.I moved ALL my temp folders to a unique SATA drive to maintain the overall performance up. I enabled TRIM and disabled defrag / technique restore.Terrific drive, don't know why it's slow for me compared to other individuals. W7 rated it 6.9 (I'm on an Asus P5Q Pro Turbo motherboard with 4GB DDR2 800MHz ram and C2Q Q9650 procesor)

Speeds are as advertised, which indicates it's really quick. No issues whatsoever with partitioning or speed degradation (so far anyway). I cannot stand sleep or hibernate functionality so I cannot comment on that problem.Comes with handy two.5" to 3.5" black steel tray. Good touch that OWC overlooks.Incredibly cool running and energy-effective. totally none so far Method boots into Linux Mint 10 in the blink of an eye, very literally. Method shuts down the instant you click or sort shutdown.

As others have stated, it's quick when it works. I'm not going to repeat what other people have already stated about the repeated BSOD with this drive. I just wanted to note that I upgraded the firmware that was supposed to fix this drive and it did not aid at all. It is still unusable as a primary drive. My 1st SSD was a Corsair P128 and I have loved it. Not a single issue immediately after 1 year of constant use. I actually thought that sticking with Corsair would pay off. I was wrong.

Comment:
Superior cost /performance combo. Love the silence compared to the old 10k Raptor! Also a noticeable temperature drop. Cut boot times in half, everything has got snappier in response. There was completely NO documentation included with the disk! No directions on employing the mounting tray (although not rocket science). The mounting tray could be designed a bit far better. Would be good if it had multiple holes to enable you to make a decision which side to offset the drive to. Cabling would have been simpler if it was offset to opposite side in my case. No warranty statement or support/troubleshooting information. I made the mistake of formatting the drive to check its function prior to attempting to install the OS to it. Windows installer had trouble installing. Had to dig via the Corsair forums to locate info on how to reset the drive, and that information was nonetheless archaic. Win 7 Pro x64 installer hung for 5 minutes at initial Windows screen prior to taking off and installing. Installed in about half regular time at that point. Not a major deal, but was odd getting the first time getting a drive in 18 yrs and no cables included. Method is noticeably additional responsive, but not as crazy quick as other people report. Could be due to the fact it is a heavily loaded graphics workstation and not a stripped gaming rig. I checked the drive speeds with HDTune, and didn't get quite as quickly a numbers as advertised, but I know Corsair recommends ATTO for that. Overall extremely happy, and am seeking forward to sticking one on my mobile workstation also.I am docking an egg basically based on the price, compared to what I see as the ideal cost. Would like to see these drives at about 25% more affordable, and they almost certainly will be by the end of the year.

This is my first SSD, and I'm glad I made the move. Win7 x64 and my World of Warcraft are the only things I keep on it, but it performs like a champ. Read speeds were more then I expected, and such a change from regular drives.I wish I had bought 2, they would probably run great in RAID0.

Comment:
Going from an OCZ Agility to this wasn't as much of a game-charger as when I went from a mechanical drive to the Agility, but it's still a significant upgrade. As with any any recent SSD, boot and app load times are incredible. In my opinion, unless you're running an old beast of a machine, then upgrading from a mechanical disk to a SSD is the most tangible upgrade that ~$200 can buy.My only compliant is that the mounting bracket doesn't fit in the upper chamber drive bay in my Antec P182 case - the bracket is shorter than a normal 3.5" drive, and so only one pair of screw holes were aligned. No such problem in the lower chamber drive bay. At least it came with a bracket, though - my first two SSDs (from OCZ) did not.

I use this SSD in my Business PC rebuild. I initially had a Vertex 2 60GB but needed more temp file space. This fits the bill without breaking the bank. Drive has 2.0 firmware. WEI of 7.7 in Win 7 SP1 x64.No regrets!I have the 60GB version at home with FW 1.1. Both work perfectly.

This was my first SSD and I love it. I should have got one a long time ago. This drive was easy to install. Came with a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket so it installs in to standard PC hard drive slot. Windows 7 64bit installed in half the time my 2 regular drives in a RAID 0 did.The 120GB is smallest I could use. I have windows 7 64bit with 6 large games installed, Office. And I have 30GB left over
