Corsair Force F40 CSSD-F40GB2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:
A little small for a desktop OS but there's always the larger sizes. This is perfect for a laptop or netbook.
Pros: Great value at $79AR on sale.Lightyears faster than a mechanical drive.Silent.Cool running. Comment:
It's a Sandforce powered SSD, not much more to say. Super fast, great customer support from Corsair forums and really good value for the $$$. |

Got this ssd today during the sale. Installed ssd and set ahci in bios. Drag and drop all the windows file on the ssd, then reboot to set ssd as main drive. Really fast as soon as it boot into windows and will do updates/benchmarks later. Some reviews state that its faster and better than an intel 40gb ssd but i havent done the test to prove their point yet. Got 7.1 in wei and I might get it higher if I do a fresh install. This is really good ssd as a boot drive and would buy again for raid 0 setup. Glad to be a guinea pig.... |
Raids wellVery quicklyI had a set of WD2500ys drives which are the raid edition drives and 1 of the f40's run nearly twice as quick as my raid setup. I picked up two for a ssd raid setup and am not 1 bit dissapointed. Corsair states that they package 2.five" to three.5" adapters in all their solid state drive packages except the f40 which appears like a major rip off. if they included the bracket then that would make it a five star item. I bought the thermaltake adapter with the drives that converts a three.five" bay into two two.five" bays. it works properly in my lian-li pc-p60 case
