So fast...wow.Windows 7 64 boot and shut down speeds are awesomeApplication loading speeds are unbelievable. BIOS does not recognize drive when turning power on. I have to turn off and turn back on to get bios to recognize F60 Super fast...every little thing I hope for as far as efficiency. It has turned my older HP Pavillon m7750n into a crazy quickly machine. If Corsair resolves the bios recognition issue, this drive would be 5 stars for certain. At this moment, simply because of the bios concern, it drops to two stars due to the fact of the annoyance issue of possessing to reboot from cold begins. Restarts are fine as it boots windows 7 64 bit every time...only from cold begins.

remarkable speed, was getting more than specs on ATTO benchmarksaw 290MB reads and 276MB writes Be careful, corsair firmware has a couple problems. corsair forums say they are functioning on the concern but as of nowƙǙቦ) Clever has difficulties and i had to disable it on my drive in order to not get an error message. Also I initially had difficulties with my computer shutting down by itself, turns out the ssd has difficulties when your computer goes to sleep or turns off your disks, power saving stuff, and so on..Solved by going higher performance and turning off any setting that saves energy. so if you are leaving your computer on all day you have to alter settings, could be an issue if you are employing a laptop or worried about your energy bill. This is a excellent drive for speed but it has issues. dont know if i would obtain this a 2nd time but the problems arent big and i solved mine.would have provided three eggs but the speed makes it fourMounting plate did not fit in my Lancool Computer-k62 case, did not matter considering that the bays have screw holes

Really swift bootup and shutdown. Really reasonable value. The bay adapter was straight forward and straightforward to install. Quiet, smaller, and rapid drive. None as far as I can tell. With this size of SSD I would placing your OS on this drive and then get a bigger HDD for files and programs. I have a 2TB for my music and movies. But put your intensive games on the SDD as effectively. Like SC2 or GTA4.

Chosen by a client right after I argued against it Nowhere close to advertised speeds (even when empty (which is how they come up w/ speed ratings) when installed in three distinct systems. Utilised in a new create and was direct lead to of random BSODs and crashes (replaced with a respected brand and difficulty solved (also brought on BSODs in two established systems, difficulty gone at the exact same time the drive was pulled). Tech help (if you can contact it that) is prob the worst I've skilled in over 30 years in the enterprise and soon after employing SSds fundamentally because they occurred on the scene, this is the worst I've dealt w/. From reading other evaluations and added study, if one particular could live with the BSODs and total lack of support, may possibly not be all that negative......till it up and dies and requires your OS and data w/ it..as they seem to be prone to do.

Really quick. Loads items about 10x faster than a typical HDD. Windows boots up in much less than a minute, full boot, applications and all. Windows 7 x64 encounter gives it a rating of 7.three! SSD is still incredibly pricey but this was a great buy for a boot drive, and Corsair is best of the line. Had to upgrade simply because my 10k RPM WD Raptor drive failed soon after 7 years of use.Oh and don't bother defragging with these drives, there's virtually no look for so fragmented files won't effect it, plus it just degrades on it right after so several utilizes.

20 Second Win 7 boots. Affordable price. Fast no cost delivery There are concerns if you want to do a fresh set up of Win 7 and have AHCI enabled in BIOS. This is not a limitation of this SSD drive and I did not deduct any eggs for it. But, when putting in Win 7 with AHCI enabled I could not boot from my DVD drive. My motherboard is an Asus P5K-E and it is all or nothing for AHCI in the BIOS. In other words when AHCI is enabled all devices operate in AHCI mode. There is no way to set the DVD drive to IDE and the other drives to AHCI. Consequently, I had to set up Win 7 in IDE mode. It is uncomplicated to enable AHCI mode in Win 7 after installation with a registry change. But, sadly when it is enabled the boot time goes way up and I can't burn DVD's. I have looked for a DVD writer that is certified for AHCI but I havn't discovered 1 yet. I am still researching this issue. Without AHCI enabled you have no NCQ. And, without having NCQ you will not get the advertised reads and writes. I am positive that these troubles will be addressed quickly. A single poster on the Asus internet web site said that they are working on a BIOS repair. This problem is by no signifies restricted to Asus motherboards so check your BIOS to see if you can assign AHCI to person devices. Also, with SSD's there are several modifications that need to be done in order to preserve the performance of the drive. Writes to the drive more than time degrade performance so cutting down on writes will assist maintain the drive quick and prolong it's life. Some points that can be accomplished contain, moving temp folders to a spinning drive, , disabling super fetch and method restore and decreasing the size of the web page file on the SSD. These and other tweaks are all more than the net. Also, the F60 is a rather modest drive, be confident to install your programs to a different drive or it will fill up incredibly rapidly. I will post again when I have had this drive for a though.

Windows 7 installed without a difficulty. Boot occasions from power on until login screen are about the very same as my previous WD Black. Time from logging in till desktop is accomplished loading is extremely rapidly. Gadgets load faster. Services start faster. The windows atmosphere is very snappy (explorer/manage/etc.) Browsers open instantaneously. Applications set up extremely rapidly. Virus scans are really rapid. Windows enabled TRIM automatically. Defrag service was automatically set to 'Manual'.So far, seeing 260 read / 135 create with HDTune. Will need to attempt an additional benchmark. HDTune shows damaged sectors but chkdsk shows drive is ok. Will require to try a different benchmark / utility to verify. Like a preceding reviewer stated - I as well saw enhanced read/write speeds after zero-filling the drive. My write speeds seem a tiny low (average 135MB/s) but I'm not certain if that is an concern with HDTune. I know HDTune would show anomalies exactly where the read speed would drop significantly when benching mechanical drives Seems like sort of the same thing happening with this SSD. A different review will be needed in the near future. If you're doing a fresh install and want only the OS on the SSD you should set the default profile location to an additional drive so all user profiles are on yet another drive. Here's what I did. Produce an admin profile called 'Temp'. Login and open regedit. Navigate to HKEY_Nearby_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList. Transform ProfilesDirectory Worth Data to whatever drive you want to conserve the profiles on. (New user profiles will be positioned there). Create a new profile(s). Login to new profile(s). Really rapid, tops out at rated speeds when benching with ATTO as Corsair recommends.Best-notch access times. The firmware on the SSD is fully hit-or-miss. As an additional reviewer mentioned, these Force drives, as properly as a pick handful of other Sandforce-based drives, have a serious difficulty with randomly crashing and not getting detected at boot. The drive will choose ideal back up following the machine is turned absolutely on and off again. Corsair's forums are plagued with related complaints, and it is confirmed to be a reproducible error. For this, I can not give the complete five eggs. Preserve up with the SSD forums on Corsair. These guys are tricky at perform figuring out the issue, and are nearing the release of a stable firmware (projected for the end of September). So, maintain all the above in thoughts when getting this drive. The newer the mobo and chipset, the greater (apparently).

This drive is really rapid. HD Tune puts it at about 170MB/s common read/write for benchmarking and about 260뢒MB/s read/write for the file benchmark. Random access instances are quite significantly instant of program. Installation was uncomplicated and painless, no problems with stability like other folks appear to be possessing. No crashing and it wakes from sleep with no trouble. Lightning fast Windows startup and shut down. None. A little pricey but it's to be expected for a solid state drive. You get what you spend for. Also you have to be moderately mindful of your space usage, can't go crazy. I have the bare minimal computer software installed (Windows 7, MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, one particular game) and I only have 19GB free of charge. I suggest a separate drive for storage. Operating Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Intel i7 920, Gigabyte EX58-UD3R with latest BIOS revision. Running Intel storage matrix drivers, you really should absolutely get these if you have this drive and you plug it into an Intel SATA port! I read that there may possibly be stability issues without having the Intel drivers. Also make certain your BIOS is set to AHCI or RAID mode, not IDE. Final thought, my BIOS reports the drive not responding to Intelligent commands but it doesn't seem to be having any issues otherwise so I feel it may just be an incompatibility in between the Sandforce 1200 and my BIOS.

Rapid Live fast, die young. As a lifelong Corsair fanboy, writing this overview pains me. Purchased this drive without totally reading extended term purchaser evaluations and paid the price tag. After four months, the drive I installed in my brother's Macbook Pro died. Attempts to boot the drive in other systems failed. As with other individuals, absolutely nothing was recoverable. Had I written this assessment inside weeks of buying the drive, I would have provided it five stars. I will RMA the drive but based on what other individuals have mentioned in their critiques, I will possibly sell the replacement with the caveat that reliability is questionable. The proceeds will probably goto an OCZ Vertex series drive. Manufacturer Response:Just FYI, the other brand of drive you talked about is constructed on the same OEM drive as our Force Series drives. As with any device working with semiconductors, it's attainable to get a bad one. Please let us to replace it and we apologize for your inconvenience.External Link(s): Corsair RMA Link|

Quickly! Uncomplicated to set up(just like any other drive) and little! 2.5".Boxed version came with a three.5" mounting bracket and screws! Feels fragile and light. As with any other SSD you could have a ton of queries before you set up it. Doesn't come with a whole lot of documentation(simple adequate?).ATTO test falls a small short of the rated speed for SATA II鴤롊 Sequential) Not seriously a biggie for me.Cost/GB but you get more speed and more quickly access out of them. Wanted a Kingston but the location I was at was sold out of them and noticed that the Oczther brand was collecting dust and spent a small additional for this 1 but I'm certain that it is nicely worth it.I'm using this drive as a key OS drive and loading my applications on a biggerƑTB) common HD.Employing an AMD Athlon II 630x4 on a Gigabyte GA-770-USB3 with a 4GB GSkill 1333MHz(PC10666) DDR3 Stick operating Windows XP SP3 32bit(IDE Mode in BIOS)I'm not touching the Firmware on this puppy since it operates fine(Update only for vista and windows 7 in AHCI Mode). These drives (Corsair Force Series) are superb in terms of efficiency. It was rated at 7.6 by the Windows Encounter Index. Blazingly rapid in standard use. Newegg was good and let me return this drive for a refund. Even so, Newegg's return policy does NOT require them to do this. So buyer beware! NOT COMPATIBLE with some laptop and motherboard configurations. The drive will intermittently fail to return from sleep or hibernate. Or fail to boot. This is correct for the Toshiba R700 and R705 laptops. Don't be fooled by the earlier assessment that tends to make light of this dilemma. It can trigger you to lose data by crashing windows when you are returning from sleep/hibernate. That's a significant concern. Corsair says that these drives are not compatible with some systems, but they supply no recourse. You can't exchange it for a diverse model. Instead Corsair tells you to use it in a diverse personal computer! Or to wait for yet another firmware update and pray that it fixes the challenge. They have been issuing firmware updates because June of last year, so I wouldn't count on a remedy anytime soon.three stars for this SSD. 5 stars for Newegg's superb assistance and willingness to be flexible with their return policy for my circumstance.
